Who doesn't get excited when reading a seductive scouting reports for a potential Rams draft pick? I know I do. As I pour over strengths and glance past weaknesses, I can't help but imagine how much better the Rams will be if we only draft this right tackle or that wide receiver.
For example, today I was reading about this ridiculous small school safety prospect. This dude is 6'2" and 218 lbs. He's said to be an all out hustler who plays until the whistle, combats receivers for the ball, and is an exceptional open field tackler. Yes please.
Then I read about this 6'6", 308 lb. first team ACC right tackle. He's reported to be an athletic big man who flashes excellent body control. He's nimble on his feet with good blocking range, and can get out into the second level. On pass protection, has the athletic ability to counter and mirror defensive movement. I beg Fish and Snead to take a hard look at this prospect.
Finally, I drooled over this left guard prospect who stands 6'3" and weighs in at 338 lbs. He's versatile and projects to be a powerful run blocking guard. He's an eventual starter at left guard and given the length of his arms could compete for a job at right tackle. He could be an excellent middle round option. Please oh please oh please say that we draft this guy.
I pray that Fisher and Snead read this article and think long and hard about drafting these sure fire prospects that will surely turn the Rams into a playoff caliber team. I guess it would help if I included their names...Craig Dahl, Barry Richardson, and Rokevious Watkins.
Just food for thought.
