The votes are in and with the ninth pick in the 2013 NFL Draft the New York Jets select Barkevious Mingo, DE/OLB, LSU
Next we address the #10 pick in the draft - The Tennessee Titans are on the clock.
#10 Tennessee Titans. Needs - DT, S, G. The Titans looked like the worst team in the NFL at times in 2012, losing 7 games by double digits, including a 51-20 drubbing by the Bears and a 55-7 beatdown at the hands of the Packers. They also lost to the Jaguars... ouch. Four of the Titans six wins came by a total of 11 points. What I'm trying to say is that the Titans were terrible in 2012, and were a couple of plays away from having the 1st overall pick in this draft. The main culprit was the D, which gave up the most points in the NFL, a whopping 29.4 points per game, while ranking 26th against the pass and 24th against the run. The Titans did manage to finish tied for 9th in sacks with 39 on the year. Not to be outdone, their offense finished in the bottom third of the NFL - 23rd in scoring, 22nd in passing, 21st in rushing, and 21st in sacks with 39 sacks allowed. On a positive note, only 8 teams did better than the 4.5 yards per carry that the Titans averaged in 2012. So where do the Titans go in the draft? There are several DTs available to help shore up their run D. Manti Te'o is still there. All of the Safeties are available. Steve Hutchinson turns 36 this year, and Warmack is staring them in the face. Fisher might look good, being that the O-line gave up 39 sacks. Dion Jordan is there to bolster the pass rush. Who do the Titans select?
