OK, Im not really advocating picking a safety in round 1 , but however it plays out...I think we need to walk away with a safety prospect that we can put on the field to replace Dahl. Filling this job is a must, but not need not be addressed with our 2 1st round picks if we get lucky on draft day. Someone mentioned that Matt Elam would be their choice, So I have been watching some film and I have to say that I am impressed. He is all over the line of scrimmage, with great acceleration and power at the POC. He sheds blocks REAL nice like. Check out this video of Elam looking very much like Blaine Bishop from Fisher's early days with the Titans.
Also it is clear that Elam is good for a personal foul every game. So there is that. But If this guy slides to our pick in the second (not likely) or we trade up in the second to get him..I think It will help fill out our secondary. Dahl's removal alone tightens things up.
