Only one of ten players drafted by the St. Louis Rams did not make the final 53-man roster. Linebacker Aaron Brown, a seventh-round pick and the only player not on the active roster, joined the practice squad on Saturday, so he is at least still around. It makes for a notable contrast as former picks from the previous administration are jettisoned.

Brown is one of six players signed to the practice squad on Saturday, the first day that NFL teams were allowed to sign players to a practice squad that can consist of up to eight players. He is also part of a youth movement at Rams Park.

The six players signed to the practice squad are:

Tim Barnes, C

Aaron Brown, LB

Mason Brodine, DE

Cory Harkey, TE

Nick Johnson, WR

Chase Reynolds, RB

Brodine was the only player who was not with the team from the start of training camp. He was signed last week as the Rams scrambled for healthy defensive linemen.

NFL teams will likely stay fairly active in the days leading up to the season opening game on Wednesday night. The Rams will likely make a few more moves between now and then themselves.

As of Saturday morning, the Rams had the youngest team in the league, with an average age of 25.32 years. Young teams are a great way to start, and the Rams are fortunate enough to have some of their cornerstone players still under the age of 30. It also means that there could be some adjustment time for them. Head coach Jeff Fisher has been clear that his rookies will learn as they go, and this season's schedule includes plenty of built-in lessons.

Stay tuned for more news from Rams Park.
