St. Louis Rams punter Johnny Hekker is a candidate for the NFL Rookie of the Week Award following his display of punting prowess in Sunday's 31-28 win over the Washington Redskins. Hekker is one of five candidates that fans can vote for this week.

Hekker averaged 54.3 yards per punt and netted 48.7 yards per punt in Week 2. His finest moment came in the fourth quarter when he kicked the ball 66 yards to pin the Redskins inside their 20-yard line.

Up against Hekker for the award is some stiff competition, including Andrew Luck who led the Colts on a last minute drive to win their home opener. Trent Richardson, Russell Wilson and Ryan Tannehill are also on the ballot.
