If the St. Louis Rams were giving free agent defensive end Andre Carter anything more than a cursory look, they may want to consider other options. Word on the street says Carter's workouts leave a little to be desired, revealing that he is not the same player he was before tearing a quad in 2011.
Word on Andre Carter is he still lacks burst and explosion. Not close to being ready to play.

Carter was at Rams Park on Wednesday for a visit. He was in Oakland the day before where the Raiders put him through a workout.
He had 10 sacks in 14 games for the Patriots last year. If healthy and fully recovered, Carter could be a good situational pass rusher to have in the rotation. Checking out Carter now is due diligence on the part of teams, who can give him a call once he is ready to play and the team has a need.
