It is indeed that time of year that fans of all 32 NFL teams hold their breath for. The return of team on team football action.

The Rams are the youngest team in the NFL and are coming off a historically bad run as has been said ad nausea. You know this. I know this.

In the wake of this latest PRESEASON beat down handed out by a team who was equally as bad last year, fans have somewhat understandably, albeit annoyingly, freaked out until the point where the annually pessimistic fans are saying *i told you so* and the other fans who were optimistic are selling Ram stock to anyone who will buy it.

Perspective. Perspective. Perspective.

Lets take a look at preseason record of some good-great Colts teams in recent history:

2006 Colts: 1-3 Preseason. 12-4 REG Season enroute to a SuperBowl win.

2007 Colts: 1-3 Preseason. 13-3 REG Season. Playoffs

2008 Colts: 1-5 including the HOF game. 12-4 reg season. Playoffs

2009 Colts: 1-3 preseason and blown out by bengals. 14-2 REG season enroute to a Superbowl lost.

2010 Colts: 0-4 preseason and blown out damn near every game. 10-6 Reg Season. Playoffs

Hell guess who the Packers lost to for two consecutive preseasons. The Browns.

Fisher played a very very very vanilla game plan on both sides of the ball just to see his young run around against another pro opponent. He mixed and matched players like a kindergarteners do clothes in order to see different players in different situations.

Lot of guys struggled but that's what practice and preseason (which is glorified practice) is for. Its for guys to go crazy and try different things so that they can fail and learn from those failures.Its for fringe players to try and make the team.
