Since I already talked about Isaiah Pead, I figured I'd do some other guys as well. I'd like to do all, but don't really see the point in doing one on Ja. Jenkins and Brian Quick. Everyone and their mothers know their style and what their capable of.
This video really doesn't show or prove anything, its just here to give you a glimpse of what kind of player he is. Givens ran a 4.39 forty yard dash at the combine. He is an elite deep threat, and a great route runner. He was considered one of the best route runners in this past years draft. Great route running plus elite speed bodes well for immediate success. He has a great change of direction and can make cuts on a dime.
The player which I think most resembles Chris Givens is:
Chris Givens: 5'11, 198 lbs, Round 4 Pick #96
Jeremy Maclin: 6'0, 205 lbs, Round 1 Pick #19
Maclin and Givens are very similar players. Both around the same measurables, they are terrific route runners with elite speed. Both are good deep threats, and can run short - intermediate routes as well. In 3 years in the NFL Jeremy Maclin has posted impressive numbers: 189 receptions, 2,596 yards, 19 TD's. If we can get that type of production from our #2 WR, it'll equal more success for other guys as well. The special thing about Givens is that he will finally give us a consistent WR who can take the top off the defense and keep the safeties honest. Not only will that open up things for slot WR's Danny Amendola and Greg Salas, but it will bode well for opposite WR Brian Quick and the running game with SJAX and Pead.
Givens is a player who I think not many people know of. He is going to surprise. NFL.com states that "he could of went in the late first round of the draft". He slipped all the way to the 4th, I'd call that a steal as of right now.
