The offseason is quieting down but the Rams still snagged a very good player in Rocky McIntosh. Rocky will be a starter and he is an immediate upgrade over our current roster pieces. One has to wonder, are there any low lying veterans out there who could give this roster another boost?
On the Offense we have a good nucleus of young players. We have a group of tight ends that are young and talented. The only veteran that could be an upgrade would be Jeremy Shockey. Thats only if he came without his mouth.
There are no wide receivers in Free Agency who I would like over our group now. If the coachs think differently, they can snag Anthony Gonzalez, a former budding star in Indy who is only 27. No one wants a 6'5 Plaxico Burress here. WE have 6'5 Danario and 6'4 Brian Quick. Both of which are better in my opinion.
WE already signed a veteran DE in William Hayes so we don't need to wonder on that account. At defensive tackle we signed Trevor Laws, a former first round pick, to provide depth. If he is not enough and D. Scott isn't high on the coachs list, watch out for Fat Albert. Thats right Albert Haynesworth played his best for Coach Fisher and he is still on the Market. If one of our DTs goes down I wouldn't be surprised to see him.
Besides from these few spots the Rams seem to have a good strong roster heading into the season. Also, this is purely speculation, the Rams front office might not even want veterans. this is just somthing Im doing to pass this football drought.
