In the 1st pick (6th pick) in the NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams selects Justin Blackmon, Wr, OkSt:

Plus the Browns reportedly are thinking hard about taking Tannehill after his impressive Pro-Day.

In the 2nd round (33rd pick) in the NFL draft, the Rams select, Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson

Reasoning:

Normally I would have Zach Brown or Ronnell Lewis here but I now have problems with both being a Ram. Brown seems like he's all about his athleticism and uses that to mask some of his problems. He lacks the instincts and rarely sniffs out the play. As for Lewis, from what people have told me on here he is more of a 3-4 OLB. Jerel Worthy as become pretty popular at this spot but WalterFootball.com rates Brandon higher. He's a run stuffer so he should help with our horrible run D.

In the 2nd round (39th pick) in the NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select, Kelechi Osemele, G/OT, Iowa State

Played LT in college but is projected as more of a RT or G in the NFL. Saffold looks like he is our LT and our FO still thinks Smith has plenty of potential so he's our RT. Osemele would complete our line at the G position.

In the 3rd round (95th pick) in the NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select, Lavonte David, OLB, Nebraska

Reasoning:

Has added on weight since the Senior Bowl and arrived at the Combine in the 230s. Adds athleticism at the OLB position and addresses a much needed need.

In the 4th round (96th pick) in the NFL draft, the St. Louis Rams select, Ryan Broyles, Wr, OU

Reasoning:

I personally never want to see Gibson on the field again, unless it is garbage time. We recently got two Wide Receivers through FA but one is injury prone and neither can be relied on. Broyles present great potential and would be a great steal in the 4th. If not for his injury, Doug says he'd be the second best Wr in the draft. Also has returning ability.

In the 6th Round (Pick 171) the St. Louis Rams select, Kellen Moore, QB, Boise State

Back up for Bradford

In the 7th round (209 pick) the St. Louis Rams select, Chris Rainey, RB, Florida

Reasoning:

This would be another steal because I've seen him going anywhere between the 5th-7th rounds. Could be the lightning to SJax's thunder. But what I like about Rainey is he is very versatile because not only is he a RB, he can also spit out wide and is a very capable kick returner and punt returner.

So there you have it, I actually changed this around like 2-3 times trying to get not only the best players possible but players that would fit the system. I believe I did a great job of addressing the needs of the team and getting the best players available where we are picking.

What do you think of this mock draft?
