Yes, we have established that it is ridiculously early to be grading the 2012 NFL Draft, since it just happened last week. Still, I enjoy the instant reactions to it. We're a reaction-based society trying to get a handle on what happened last week, even though it will take years for players to reach their full potential. First impression still matter.

Chris Burke at SI.com weighed in with his draft grades. Like not love is the best way to describe his reaction to the St. Louis Rams draft.

DT Michael Brockers (14), if he develops well, will fit in nicely with Jeff Fisher's defense. St. Louis also swung for the fences with CB Janoris Jenkins (39), RB Isaiah Pead (50) and DB Trumaine Johnson (65). A top-flight WR would have been nice, but Brian Quick (33) or Chris Givens (96) could get there. Grade: B-plus

The 'B' grade seems to be the general consensus, which makes some sense. The Rams took chances on several player, most notably the cornerbacks. That's a risky move that could pay off ... or it could just be another risk taken with no reward.

I like taking risks. The Rams have been risk averse for far too long, and it's the only way to make strides, the kind of big strides that move a team forward.
