Yesterday, we had enough trades, that my head was spinning, just long enough for me to realize the jaguars, pounced all over Blackmon, leaving us with Claiborne or Cox. I wanted Cox, thinking we could stand to upgrade our interior defense of line, then out of nowhere we trade back to pick 14, for just an extra 2nd rounder, if anything we could have got at least an extra 4th rounder or 5th rounder in the trade. We got Micheal Brockers, a DT some had high, but only on potential. He is kind of like Robert Quinn, except maybe as not polished, and being a run stopper to Quinn's pass rusher.
Anyway, after my rambling, here are some good Day 2 guys, and then a Day 2 mock draft. Yes, I wont stop with the Mocks.
Bobby Wagner OLB
Wagner is a great OLB who is defiantly going early in round 2. He has a high motor, and good instincts, but has a hard time shedding blocks. He would be a solid OLB opposite JL. He was also my favorite OLB, that is until I saw....
Mychal Kendricks OLB Cal
He has good speed and instincts, and can get to the QB. He is a bit small, and may have some problems tackling bigger running backs, one play, he struggled bringing down Andrew Luck for sack, but he got the sack non the less.
Zach Brown OLB
While were doing outside linebackers, Zach Brown, once a first round pick, is now fallen, and could be had in the third, or maybe our 2nd round pick from Dallas. He has speed and is athletic, kind of like DB playing linebacker. He could help cover people like Vernon Davis.
Stephen Hill WR
What else is there to know about Stephen Hill other then that he is tall, fast and he is from G tech? He is a faster and healthier version of DX. However, there are some questions. Being at G tech, there's not a lot of tape on him, also on the tape that he has, some plays he gives up on the play, not making the effort to finish. And the texans didn't take him, meaning there was obviously something that teams don't like about him. He is a boom or bust player.
Alshon Jeffery WR
The Rams may want to take him just so that RG3 doesn't shoot Fisher for missing on Blackmon. kidding aside, RG3 does have a valuable point, he was considered a top ten pick before, so can the talent just leave him? Did he have talent before? is he lazy? is he a product of horrible QB play at south Carolina? We don't know, so he is another boom or bust kind of guy.
Ruben Randle WR
He is one of my personal favorite at the WR position in this draft. He may not have the ceiling of Jeffery or Hill, but he is the safest pick, and could become a solid no.2, something the Rams need. Gibson just doesn't cut it.
Lamar Miller RB
The Rams need a back up RB. Lamar Miller isn't considered an all down back, but he can be a very good backup. He has speed and shiftiness, and is a good compliment to Steven Jackson.
Chris Polk RB
Chris Polk is another good back up option, although he is a lot like Steven Jackson.
LaMicheal James RB
Another back up option, alot like Lamar miller. He can electrify this offense.
There are more prospects, but they have been covered by other writers here on TST.
Now my Mock.
#33- Ruben Randle WR
#39- Cordy Glenn OG
#45- Lavonte David, or Mychal Kendricks( he may go to the Ravens) or Bobby Wagner.
