Let me start off by saying, I am not a Rams fan. I am a Cowboys fan, and a regular reader over at Blogging The Boys. However, I greatly respect the Ram's franchise, and like the direction they are headed in under Jeff Fisher and Sam Bradford.
I'm going to offer a trade scenario, which I feel makes all but too much sense for the two franchises involved in the trade. I APOLOGIZE IF THIS HAS BEEN DISCUSSED 1,000 OVER HERE AT TST. I do not read TST and am unaware if this scenario has been played out multiple times. But as I was looking at the draft order, and team needs, I found this trade to be too good to be true.
After the jump... :)
Lets get right into the action. The trade partner is the Cleveland Browns.
Rams Receive Picks: 22, 37, 67 (1565 value points)
Browns Receive Pick: 6 (1,600 value points)
Don't feel offended or "screwed" out of losing 35 points, the trade offers the Rams so much more.
This scenario leaves the Rams with picks: 22, 33, 37, 39, 65, and 67. And that's only the first three rounds!
Imagine what this draft could do for the Rams (And what I believe to be very realistic):
22: WR- Michael Floyd
33: DT- Devon Still
37: OG- Kevin Zeitler
39: RB- Doug Martin
65: BPA- OT/OLB/CB
67: BPA- OT/OLB/CB
Or ANY combination of great players in this deep draft! This is the type of trade Belichick would be all over. And if there is any team you should try and model your draft day trades after, its the Patriots.
So why would the Browns be willing to make this offer? This offer will land the Browns both Trent Richardson, and Justin Blackmon. This will allow them to get one year under each of their belts before they go and draft Colt McCoy's replacement in next years first round.
So what are your thoughts Rams fans? Am I kicking a dead horse over here at TST, or is this the direction you would like to see your team go?
