I hope we don't get suckered into Trich draft!!!

Look, I have just one point to make before I post a short draft. Adrian Peterson. Has he made the Vikings better? They are picking 3rd in this draft. Steven Jackson. I love him but has he made the Rams better? Who is picking 2nd? Look at the Patriots. They haven't had a top tier running back since maybe Corey Dillon and they didn't make him a feature back but used him as a complimentary player. Pittsburgh had the "BUS" but he was hyped, he wasn't a steady 100 +yards producer unless he had 40 carries, he kept them in close games and relied the Steelers relied on the D. He also didn't produce a huge amount for the Rams, that's why they dumped him for picks. Most of the successful teams these days are pass balanced meaning 60/40 or better pass to run with ball catching running backs. T Rich is not going to make a huge improvement to the offense. He's just going to give us more of the same production we get from S Jackson (Although he might stay uninjured a little longer). We can pick up a situational 3rd down back that in a pinch we can rely on when S. Jackson eventually gets hurt and pick up a running back with a 1st rounder in the next two years. Using the same the same reasoning I've seen as a reason to get T. Rich, It's going to take two or three years to get back to playoff respectability. So why not improve the team by either improving either line or getting a WR. So, Reggie Bush didn't do it, Adrian Peterson didn't do it, T Rich won't do it. Ok, maybe Mr. Faulk and maybe Mr. Dickerson did but Faulk was a hybrid Flanker back who did equal damage catching the ball and had an Einstein football mind and Dickerson kept us in the playoffs on a pretty good Ram team already. But we rarely got anywhere in the playoffs with him as opponents would shut him down for all but one long run. With that said, Here's my draft. It's won't make people happy but its what I think should happen if we are going to get back to respectability:

1/6: Blackmon

2/1: Fleener

2/7: Zietler

3/2: Alameda Taamu

4/1: Nigel Bradom

6/1: Cliff Harris

7/2: Best available Punter

7/second to last: BPA

Or go with the Dline first:

1/6: Fletcher Cox

2/1: Fleener

2/7: Zietler

3/2: LaMichael James ( pick up Cedric Benson in FA)

4/1: Nigel Bradom

6/1: Cliff Harris

7/2: Best available Punter

7/second to last: BPA

I would throw in a trade down, which I hope happens, preferably with the Dolphins, but there are too many wild scenarios.

I'll hit the Fleener issue right now cause I can hear the dissent rising so I'll explain. Double tight end set. Kendricks and Fleener. If they pick up Simpson in free agency then with Steve Smith and Amendola not mention if they grab Blackmon, hell, we've improved and Sammy can get out of his turtle shell and start throwing to some targets. You also see I'm high on Zietler. With Zietler in the fold and Wells and Dahl I don't think Saffold or Smith will have their heads on a swivel when worrying about the inside lanes nearly as much, making them better players, and with better coaching??? Cliffy, I'm a duck fan and I saw what he can do. This is a steal!!! Get him in shape and his head right with Fisher and we have an instant ball hawk with a nose for the end zone. At worst he's an awesome nickel back that can return punts. He's way faster than his combine numbers on the football field. With Fletcher Cox I shouldn't need to explain. We have our Dline for the next 5 to 7 years set.

Let the mud slinging commence Van Bibber!!!!
