Why the Rams need to keep Danario Alexander

Look we all know that the Rams WRs are not very good and most are bad. Brandon Gibson is a mess, Austin Pettis and Greg Salas are still young, and Steve Smith needs to prove he can still play at a high level. That leaves the curious case of Danario Alexander. Alexander was arguably the best WR in the history of the University of Missouri, but he has many knee injuries. The skill inside him is too great to just throw away. Alexander was relatively healthy last year, playing in eleven games, but know he started the season missing the first game. There were also a couple games I believe that he was a healthy scratch on game day. In the time he played he avg 16.6 yds per catch, not bad, best on the team besides Brandon Lloyd. He only had 26 receptions and I'd say 6 or 7 of them were spectacular grabs. Remember his spectacular touchdown grab against the Giants in week 2, what if we could get that for even if not all but most of the season. Alexander is 6-5 217 with all the skill it takes to be an NFL Receiver. If Alexander puts together a full injury free season, it would be scary.

Danario Alexander Danario Alexander #84 of the St. Louis Rams catches a 19-yard touchdown reception in the third quarter against Michael Coe #37 of the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium on September 19, 2011 in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
