NFL Draft 2012: Rams Trade With Redskins

It seems as if The Washington Redskins will not get Peyton Manning as a FA. Manning appears to be a likely candidate for The Miami Dolphins. They have a lot of pieces in place that Manning would certainly find attractive:

1. A warm climate

2. A solid offensive line.

3. A Running Game.

4. Brandon Marshall and the possibility of bringing in Colt FA's Reggie Wayne and Pierre Garcon.

5. The power to run the offense on the field.

Few if any of these amenities would be available in Washington under Mike Shanahan. The Washinton Redskins need a QB as much as a fish needs water. Rhetoric aside ; I think they undertsand what type of potential RGIII brings to the table as a passer and as a runner.

The Cleveland Browns seem unwilling to give up that second first round draft pick. This is surprising with Colt McCoy coming off a year where he sustained a series of concussions; and the fact that he was a third round draft pick. Teams usually stock up on picks for the opportunity to select potential elite talent; especially at the QB position. The Cleveland Browns may have another plan.

After the jump, I will offer an updated draft mock which includes: FA's and potential UDFA's. Consideration was given to the possible FA activity and team decision making listed above. Emphasis was also placed on stopping the run, providing Bradford with a reliable corps of receivers, establishing a larger and more physical interior offensive line, improving the run game, and providing the secondary with players who exhibit great man coverage and ball skills.

The Washington Redskins have swapped their number one selection with The St. Louis Rams, and select RGIII. In addition; The Rams received Washington's second and third round selections for 2012 and a first and fifth round selection for 2013.
