As we all know the Rams are currently very thin at wide receiver going into the draft. I believe Justin Blackmon is an elite receiver and the Rams will select him with the sixth pick in the draft and he will come in and be the number one receiver immediately. That being said Danny Amendola and him can't succeed alone. So I think the Rams will need to use one of their two second round picks on a second receiver to complement Blackmon. The four guys to keep an eye on to drop to either picks 33 or 39 are Rueben Randle, Alshon Jeffery, Mohamed Sanu, and Stephen Hill.
Before his last season of college football Jeffery was considered the top receiver prospect in the class so he would be an enticing option in the second round. Jeffery may be my choice if he goes out and kills it on his pro day, but for now there are too many question marks to be answered.
Sanu was a close second in my opinion because of his versatility to play on the outside, in the slot, punt return and he can be used in a little wildcat. But after hearing Charles Davis of NFL Network compare him to Austin Pettis it kind of turned me away from him, even though I don't 100% agree with that analysis.
Randle is very intriguing to me with good size at 6'3" and good speed running in the high 4.3's at his pro day. To add to that Rueben has good body control and soft hands like Blackmon, but I feel he could of had a lot better production at LSU. Maybe that has to do with poor QB play though.
MY CHOICE: Stephen Hill
Hill is a boom or bust player, but sometimes franchises need to take chances. And Hill would be a good guy to take a chance on since he has the physical attributes Blackmon doesn't have so the pair could be an incredible duo if they worked out.
