The rams have not had a number 1 receiver since the torry holt days and it is getting a bit ridiculous. With Sam Bradford entering his 3rd year it is a huge deal to get him weapons. Danny amendola and greg salas are very solid options in the slot and bradford will use them alot as 3rd and fourth options, however they are not number 1 receivers or even number 2 options. I know all us rams fans think the world of amendola but let's get real, he's a slot guy with very good hands and can be a great 3rd option. The rams missed out on key free agent receivers such as robert meachem, pierre garcon, and mario manningham which kills us because the way it looks two draft picks will have to be put towards receivers. The rams should try and sign plaxico burress to a one year deal. He played for shotty in newyork and although hes older and slower he is still a great redzone target and can show a guy like blackmon, or floyd a few things. Dnario alexander gets hurt every other week and I doubt the rams will draft receiver in the 2nd round after they pick blackmon so burress could be a solid number 2 option. Now a days you need three good receivers and with Burress, Blackmon, and amendola I think the rams can survive and have a middle of the pack passing game and maybe pick up a key free agent next year at WR. Just drafting blackmon will not be enough. Unless of course they use one of their second round picks on a decent receiver such as an alshon jeffery (if he falls), or a reuben randle or mohammed sanu.
