As i can tell, most fans of our beloved St. Louis Rams are heart broken that we could not sign a free agent receiver. Though i kinda feel the same way i dont think that it would have been money well spent. So due to this development it seems that the pick everyone wants to see from the Rams is Justin Blackmon. Though i dont completely disagree with bringing in a new receiver for cheap (I believe that Manningham is going to be WAYYY overpaid) i do disagree with grabbing a receiver with our #6 pick. Blackmon is not top ten caliber. He is a product of his system, we would be settling and that is something we should never do. At 6'1 he is a tad to short, he wont scare teams deep, we will basically be getting a receiver that is as good maybe a little better then our current ones. Instead we will grab Poe, or Brockers at DT or Reiff, Martin or DeCastro at OL. The only way we draft a Recevier in the 1st is if we trade down. But adding Poe or Brockers to our Defense would be a great addition, we would have a top 5 D Line for the next 5 years. But adding Any of the O Lineman i said earlier would keep bradford safe and upright thus giving our receivers time to develop in there routes. Gibson, DX, Pettis, Salas and Amendola all are good receivers, but they cant show there stuff off if they get to steps into there routes before there QB is running for his life. With a full offseason and more time to get deep into there progressions they will suprise all of us and though they might not be a top 10 squad i can see them being a 20-15 squad coupled with a good running game and good young D thats a borderline to solid playoff team. Go ahead blast me for not wanting a flashy team that airs it out, i know from what ive read that thats what fans want.
