The Kansas City Chiefs are set on signing free agent right tackle Eric Winston, according to Jason La Canfora of the NFL Network. Kansas City has a big hole at right tackle. If Winston signs a deal with the Chiefs, that will come as a minor blow to the St. Louis Rams, who were expecting him for a visit on Friday.
St. Louis needs tackle help as well, on either side of the line. Right now they have Rodger Saffold, who may or may not be good enough to stay on the left side. Harvey Dahl is more than capable of playing on the right side, but the Rams also need the mauler at guard, especially since the new coaching staff plans to run the ball plenty.
The Rams need help all over their offensive line with vacancies at guard and tackle as well. Center Scott Wells visited the team yesterday as well as guard Travelle Wharton.
Friday could be another busy one as teams and players look to get deals wrapped up before the weekend.
