Plan A and Plan B + A Note On Blackmon
Here are 2 different plans that I would be happy with if one of them happened this offseason:
Plan A: This plan is all about improving the offense and providing play-makers for Sam Bradford: First, have the Rams sign Dwayne Bowe in FA and then draft Blackmon with 2nd pick. Then look to get either Lamar Miller in the 2nd or LaMichael James in the 3rd. This will make the offense much more explosive and dangerous. I say Bowe as the targeted WR in FA due to the fact that I believe based on age and ability, he is the best available. Fisher seems to target OL in later rounds of his drafts, so that can be addressed there. Also, I'm sure there will be some FA O-Line that Fisher will go after, or maybe that CFL tackle that was signed will surprise everyone.
Plan B: This plan is predicated on Bowe not signing with the Rams and concentrating on overall team improvement: I would like to see them draft either Morris Claiborne or Kalil at 2 and then look for a WR in the 2nd round and a DT in the 3rd. The DT and OL can be address in FA and the draft depending on whatever direction Fisher and the new GM decide on.
I know these plans aren't very in-depth, but I would be very happy with something like these happening.
**A Note on the Justin Blackmon Comparisons**
I realize that comparisons are inevitable between players, but I find it odd that everyone keeps saying Blackmon is not as good as A.J. Green or Julio Jones. I know that if Blackmon had come out last year, he would have been rated behind them, BUT that was last year. Victor Cruz came out the year before Green and Jones and he had a fantastic season this year, but would have been rated very low compared to Green and Jones. Also, I think Jones benefits from White and Gonzalez while Green is a straight beast. I guess my point is that every year players will be rated differently, but no one truly knows which players will flop and which ones will be great. No one knows if Kalil or Luck will become an elite player in the NFL, but I think Blackmon is worthy of the #2 pick in the draft and has every chance to be an elite receiver at the pro level. He also fill the Rams greatest need in my opinion.

I think DBowe is going to the highest paid FA to sign with a team this offseason. Even though last years numbers were not as good as 2010’s, this guy has shown results. I’m concerned about how much he’d cost, but if he’s wearing a Rams uni next year, I’d be a happy man
Bowe probably would be expensive, but I’m sure some Rams will be cut that will improve the cap space and then look to get a long term contract for him
"St. Louis Rams -- Where every year we are 3 years away."
sounds like a plan to me, buddy
and I hope you’re right……..or at least that we can celebrate some WR acquisition via free agency. My worry, with as much fun as we’re having with all the speculation now, is that when it gets down to crunch time, what we want as fans isn’t realized and we watch the same a-holes that caused us pain in 2011 run around in London in 2012
Living in KC
Bowe is not the answer. Those stats for the most part are empty calories. Fans in kc describe him as anti-clutch, never living up to the moment and not doing everything he can to win. Honestly the opposite of Dwayne Bowe might be someone worth targeting. Someone not afraid to be led to the middle of field by a young QB, someone who consistently makes the big grab and wins games for the team.

same
this is the same ive heard from my chiefs fan friends. they hate him, i guess i just dont see it. but i also only really watch the stat lines and not so much the games.
no matter what, hes an upgrade on the rams.
Change of scenery doesn't change work ethic.
If he’s gonna get paid, I just hope its not by the Rams. He really is a bum. It’s NOT an upgrade, trust me. We can’t settle for better than the motley crew we have lining up at wideout if we plan on really contending. We need to dare to dream to have dependable, gritty WR that would do anything for wins and not individual stats.
Change the mentality to a winner and find that there is no room for a guy like Dwayne Bowe.

:Victor Cruz came out the year before Green and Jones and he had a fantastic season this year, but would have been rated very low compared to Green and Jones.:
Well….duh… that’s not even a fair comparison. Victor Cruz wasn’t on the same collegiate level as Green or Jones, and that’s what is used to compare players before the draft, not their nfl playing ability.
This post is BRILLIANT!
Good job. I vote A and agree completely with WR comparison, Claiborne is a need, but CB take years to develop. Look at King, he is only 4 years away.

i like the plans
id still go with plan b personally. although the thought of stacking the weapons for the savior is pretty exciting, i just dont see it as the best way to build the team.
The Cleveland Trade
is still the key. If we pick up the #4 pick and get either Kalil or Blackmon along with their #22 or other multiple picks, we can call it a success. Either of those players totally match our needs, and I’d love a Blackmon/Adams scenario and would also be very satisfied with a Kalil/Jeffery first round. Additional picks would just be gravy. When you check our draft success over the last few years, you notice we don’t do a very good job selecting players in rounds 4-7.
