Turf Show Times' Rams' 2011 MVP Winner
The results are in for the MVP vote for the Rams MVP of 2011 and the winner by a small margin was Chris Long! He narrowly beat out Steven Jackson in the voting which had over 350 submitted votes! Thanks to all those who voted!
Chris Long has clearly come into his own as a pass rusher. Before this season started, some were being critical of his production. As the second overall pick in 2008 big things were expected early, but he only recored 17.5 sacks in three seasons.
Chris Long proved many of those critics wrong this season by having a fantastic year for the Rams. He led the team in sacks, with 13, a career high and his first season with double digit sacks. His best performance came in the Rams' shocking win over the Saints in which he recorded three sacks of Drew Brees and wrecked havoc on the Saints for 4 quarters.
What is even more impressive is he recorded all his sacks on a defense that played from behind the majority of the time. This made it so that pass rush situations weren't as prevalent for him as other pass rushers, but he still found a way to get to the pocket.
Again congrats to Chris Long on a marvelous season for the Rams and winning the first Turf Show Times' Rams' MVP. A special thanks to all those who voted as well!!

this is the most important award in all of football. This is a life-changing achievement.

Let's hope Quinn has a JPP-type breakout season
we could have the best pair of DE’s in the league

I actually like the giants D,
And if we get a good DT but no LB help we might end up looking similar lol

Don't forget that many here labeled him as a bust going into this season.
Let that dampen your aggression toward our other young players when they’re not playing like seasoned vets yet.
Just sayin’.

It didn't take much!!
Chris by far ,was the bright spot for the Rams. He never quit like alot of bums that was out on the field. S Jax was a distance second! The first game in the season killed this team when he went down!!!
Overachieving QB Killa
Nice year Chris! Now go out there and do it again.

I wouldn't say that this is even close to overachieving for him
I don’t think we’ve seen him at his best yet.

Great Pass Rusher
His only weakness is his rush defense. If that becomes as good as his pash rush ability, he’s a top 5 DE for sure.
