Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Mock Draft

Here, we trade with the Cleveland Browns and get their two first rounders and fourth rounder and fifth rounder.

1A) Reilly Reiff OT- We thought we could get out of the Blackmon/Kallil debate but instead just fall into a new one, the Reiff/Blackmon debate. We decided that the WR class runs deep enough that we can afford to miss out on Blackmon.

1B) Micheal Floyd WR- Jeff Fischer has a reputation of taking a chance on problem players, and michieal Floyd is a troubled player, with a big amount of potential.

2) Zack Brown Olb- A great, athletic OLB, who can really make plays.

3) Bobby Wagner Olb- Yes, yes, I just took an OLB, but the position so bad, we need to double dip, a big reason our run defense is bad is because our OLBs are horrible, they over pursue, cant tackle, the list goes on and on. Wagner has a great motor and is always around the ball. JL will certainly be happy with these picks.

4a) Alamada Ta'mu DT- A great runstuffing DT, just who we need. Another optional pick is Jared Crick, A very good prospect, who went down due to injury. He could bring more pass rush then Ta'mu.( but think how fun it would be for to hear a commentator call out his name?)

4b) isiah Pead RB- A back up complement back to Steven Jackson.

5) Ledavrius Green TE- A very big, athletic TE, who can be a huge asset in the short passing game, but has enough speed to do some longer routes as well. He great value over here.

6) Jaymes Brooks OG- Part of a great virginia tech O-line, who opened holes for David Wilson like no ones business.

7)T-Bob Herbert C- A good developmental center, who can be coached up. And who cant love the name T-Bob?

Just got acquinted with B Wagner and I like the idea!

How familiar with Bradham and Spence are ya? I would have a tough decision to make if all three were available.

I would like to see Wagner concede less yardage to his blockers/ball carrier paths.

When he decides to “go” (I like his consistent attack action) he goes well, but It would be nice if he was more aggressive with those blocking him in open space, or coming at him. I am not sure if it’s too much patience or just a delay/hesitation in processing what’s going on.
Hopefully its a coach-able situation. That’s really the only thing keeping me from being real excited for him.

I Would Take Nigel Bradham

He is bigger, plays both the pass and the run well, and hits like a truck.

I like it

Fills many holes. Defence is immediately improved. Maybe a CB in 4b and a RB in the 6th/7th? Rams don’t have a 5th this year though.

Good draft

Bears are locked in on floyd tho. Alshon?

by Ram_Redemption on Feb 25, 2012 9:39 PM CST via mobile reply actions

wouldnt we pick before the bears? otherwise Alshon is ok if Flyod isnt there, but i would prefer dwight Jones

as he has the same size, but better production and speed. Dont start saying hes horrible after watchingjust the mizzou game, because before that he was beast.

Bears pick 19

While our second pick would be 22

Brown

Brown will not go in the 2nn. He is a first round draft pick. If anything Burfcit will drop to the 2nd and we pik him up. Williams is good controlling guys like him. If we get the 22nd pick and trade that to someone for more picks then we would get Brown, in the late first.

The first sentence was all I needed to see, your idea is to overcompensate for one player, two spots ahead. The price doesn’t realistically compensate the Browns for the swap. Sorry your mock is a FAIL.

A bargain is something you don't need at a price you can't resist....
If I agreed with you we'd both be wrong!
My mother never saw the irony in calling me a son-of-a-bitch!
Once you start agreeing with TDSH, you know that you're wrong.

revision to browns trade

A trade that makes the browns stick out as a good trade is that they can give us a first round pick, a second round pick, and a few more picks. the browns then retain at least another first round pick this year that they can use on a good player. Or at least that’s what I think. Any opinions?

I can live with that draft.

But I think Pead will be gone that late in the 4th. We might be able to get him early in the 4th and I think he might be a key acquisition to fill our 3rd down/KR needs, I would be okay taking Pead in the 3rd, keep Ta’amu in the early fourth and using the late 4th on Keenan Robinson, OLB from Texas. Not quite Wagner but still a pretty nice solution to the Strong side. Probably the best scenario if Reiff is the real deal. I still prefer Blackmon, but that leaves us with a OT problem.
