Have your cake and eat it too!

The combine will undoubtedly create a bit of a buzz for us Rams fans just chompin at the bit for the latest in the rumor mill, but the majority of us are awaiting the upcoming free agency and draft periods for some definite answers. In case you've got half the afflictions that Helen Keller did, and haven't seen the site as of late, the main discussion surrounds who we take with our top pick in April's Draft, whether it be at #2, #4, #6, #8, or any other (apparently) even number moving down the board. There's been plenty debate as to whether LT or WR should (and rightfully so) be the choice that Jeff Fisher and company make. I've flipped and flopped, flopped and flipped, until just moments ago decided that I want Blackmon. Here's why.....

Ben Archibald is why! Sometimes, as does this great country that we live in, we've got to look elsewhere for resources. The highest rated offensive lineman for the BC Lions (of the CFL), has twice been named the All-Canadian player of the year, and won the 2011 'Most Outstanding Lineman Award.' I bet you're thinking "he looks legit," but let me further explain why he's the answer for the Rams at LT, and the reason that we can all rest easy on our first pick this year...

First things first. Matt Kalil hasn't won anything, and if you'll read the aforementioned paragraph, you'll see that my Archi-boy has won three things.......three pretty awesome things from our neighboring country. 'How is it awesome?' Health care, that's how! Let's face it, folks, injuries are a serious concern for our Rams and Archibald will be able to easily (just a hop, skip, and jump across the border) meet the needs of our ailing players, and cheap!

'But DC, he's 33 years old!' Since when do the words 'experience' and 'tenure' carry such a negative connotation? He's played for six different teams since 2003. Don't give me that 'that's because no one wanted him.!' It's because six teams wanted him.........well.........five, because the Saints wanted him twice. That's how good he is!

I'm just going to go ahead and leave it at that. I'm going to sit back and watch as your praise rolls in, and allow my head to swell as I listen to the chants of 'you oughta call yourself GMRamFan for the great personnel ideas you've got.' To you, my fellow Ram fans, I'll simply say 'you're welcome.'
