The Rams (led by Charlie Pankey) selected Morris Claiborne yesterday. It's now the Jag's (led by warriorsrise) turn to pick. They may not have added a playmaker, but DeCastro is most likely going to be one hell of a guard.
David DeCastro, G, Stanford
|It came down to reaching on K. Wright or picking a potential perennial pro bowler in DeCastro.|
Analysis after the jump.
There is no doubt that the Jaguars like Kendall Wright, and there is a very good chance they pick him at #7. Some even say they have him rated higher than Justin Blackmon. But the problems with their offense stem from much deeper roots than that.I wouldn't exactly say DeCastro isn't a reach, since he isn't at a premier position. But he is a premier prospect.
The Jaguars offensive line has problems, and MJD would love a monster like DeCastro to open up holes for him. With so many free agent wide receivers, this could be a great pick to help develop Grabber and the offense.
Then there were 7. If you missed any of the previous picks, or want to see what trades have been made so far, check out the full schedule. If you are GM and would like to see dbcouver's awesome Big Board, go here (hint, it's the second tab at the bottom).
