The Rams (led by Charlie Pankey) selected Morris Claiborne yesterday. It's now the Jag's (led by warriorsrise) turn to pick. They may not have added a playmaker, but DeCastro is most likely going to be one hell of a guard.

There is no doubt that the Jaguars like Kendall Wright, and there is a very good chance they pick him at #7. Some even say they have him rated higher than Justin Blackmon. But the problems with their offense stem from much deeper roots than that.I wouldn't exactly say DeCastro isn't a reach, since he isn't at a premier position. But he is a premier prospect.
The Jaguars offensive line has problems, and MJD would love a monster like DeCastro to open up holes for him. With so many free agent wide receivers, this could be a great pick to help develop Grabber and the offense.

That’s what Ive been saying. You can always find cap room. Go to Sam, say “we need cap room so we can get you help” Sam will say “let’s move some of my money to bonuses and other things that don’t count against the cap”

Because I was stating the opposite after reading Silvas comments. It’s hard to tell on this iPhone, but I feel as though I just told everyone that Lloyd was franchised……which I did not
I get the idea of taking DeCastro to help protect Gabbert and MJD
But just trade down and take Floyd

A 4.52 40 yard dash. What is Blackmon supposed to run? A 4.4 or 4.5. Dez Bryant is a complete beast, and Blackmon has SUCH a better work ethic and attitude. Someone tell me how Blackmon isn’t worthy of a top ten, top 5 pick.

He's not fast, not big, doesn't run great routes
all he did this year was run slants at around 12-13 yards per catch so he’s not even a big play guy like Dez Bryant.
He’s got good hands and is an easy 1st round pick, but he’s not a top 5 talent and he’s on par with Kendall Wright IMO. Around 10-15 sounds about right to me.
He's physically the exact same player of Dez
With a much larger catch radius. He runs nothing but slants? Funny, I remember him doing a lot more than that, but he did run a lot of slants. Why? Cause the OSU offense is about getting the ball out quick. He is a physsically attacks CB’s and his work ethic is something you can’t even begin to debate. He also compiled maybe the greatest season ever by a WR two years ago.

Also, Jerry Rice wasn't big or fast
But what did he do? He worked his butt off harder than anyone else to maximize the talent that he did have. And anyone who has ever talked about Blackmon mentions that his work ethic is unlike anything else you see out of a college player.

I won't argue 2 of your 3 but Blackmon does run good routes
Saying a player fits around 10-15 seems like kind of an arbitrary statement. Which 9-14 players would you say make more sense for the Rams? I can see a valid argument for Kali or The other OT out of Iowa and perhaps even a couple of the top defensive prospects but there is no way Blackmon is at 10 or 15 on the Ram’s board.
I’m not sure if Blackmon exactly solves our problems at WR but I don’t doubt he’d be better than any of the other WR have currently. I like the guy and believe he’ll put in the work it takes to become a good NFL receiver. Saying he’ll be the next Jerry Rice is a bit of a stretch but saying he won’t isn’t fair either. Blackmon is great at making yards after the catch and that’s why OSU was able to feed him with quick routes instead of constantly lobbing the ball deep to him tough he certainly made his share of deep catches.
Picking an interior linemen this high is a bit odd
but not a bad pick.

Jags and Rams
Are similar teams right now. If this was Rams pick and above 6 players are gone, who would you pick? Can’t say trade down because I didnt want to mess with fake 2013 3rd round picks. I would be happy with DeCastro. Oh and Jags have a couple solid tackles.

Too high for a guard
It’s not the kind of pick that will hurt you but it’s a pick that sets you back since you can damn near sign someone off the street to play guard. Since trading wasn’t considered, reaching on a WR would have been a much better pick since there ain’t no way the Jags are convincing a FA WR to sign with them. I just see way too much value being attached to offensive linemen considering the lack of physical separation between prospects. Compare the best O Linemen prospect to the average in measuables and it doesn’t drop off a severely as it does with other positions. It’s as if people have mistaken the importance of the position with the law of supply and demand. There is a reason that QBs and skill position guys make the biggest salaries.

Not sure but I remember they had 5 or 6 picks in 2010 I think and picked (according to wikipedia) 2 DE's
and two DT’s but feel like when I was following the draft on NFL.com they had 3 DE’s and a DT which means that they spent half of their draft on ends.

Grade C
Of the many things that Jacksonville needs are WR’s that can stretch the field. Adding these type of WR’s is one way to take the pressure off the run and the QB. Kendall Wright would be the pick IMO.
Floyd over Wright
Wright is Donnie Avery. A guy coming from this Art Briles system with speed and a qb who can throw the deep ball and dominated his conference. All he can do is get deep and when people know that’s ALL you do, unless youre Moss in his good days, they make you inneffective. People undervalue what Desean does in the screen game and slant game. Makes him totally different than these other sped demon one trick ponies.

Disagree
With Avery comparison. Wright is an explosive athlete with more tools than speed.
1.Route running:
Wright is very adept at running clean and crisp routes and has a better sense of where the soft openings are to exploit. I didn’t see these attributes from Avery.
2. Quickness:
I do not recall seeing Wright being hung up at the LOS very often. His quickness allowed him to beat a lot of jams. Avery was a straight line speed guy who often got hung up by DB’s playing a physical press.
3 Strength:
Avery got hung up on the LOS in part to his lack of physical strength. Wright is a powerful kid for his size.
4. Hands:
Wright has strong hands. I did not see him drop a lot balls. His concentration is top notch.
A lot of people will make the mistake of thinking that Wright is just a fast undersized WR. Those persons may come to regret passing on Wright. I would select Wright over Floyd. A big WR who has trouble beating jams off the line is a red flag.
