The Usual Trade With the Browns - Rams Mock Draft

Fantasy_dual_mock_draft_576_medium

It seems like trading down with the Browns is the consensus ideal trade scenario for the Rams. And if that trade is achieved my guess would be the 22nd pick and their second and fourth round picks to the Rams to swap picks and select RG3. Free Agency wise I think first priority is figuring out the wide receiver situation. Brandon Lloyd, Marques Colston, Vincent Jackson, Dwayne Bowe, Stevie Johnson, just sign any one of these guys you can't miss. This is my view on how the draft should and could end up.

Round 1

Justin Blackmon WR Oklahoma State 6-1 215

Justin Blackmon no matter what your opinion of him, fact is he's the best wide receiver in the draft. Even if he turns out not to be top five receiver in the NFL, I would still be okay with him being an Anquan Boldin type player in his prime. But I would prefer him to be a T.O. type player in his prime if I had a choice.

(Browns) Mike Adams LT Ohio State 6-7 323

It would be perfect if the Rams could select both a great receiver and pass protecting left tackle in the same draft. Mike Adams would thrive at protecting Bradford in 2012 even though he still needs a lot of work in the run blocking game, but that's okay because the Rams have Steven Jackson carrying the rock. And of coarse Rodger Saffold would slide to right tackle where he was supposed to play after being drafted, but beat Jason Smith out on the left side.

Round 2

David Wilson RB Virginia Tech 5-10 205

David Wilson has exceptional speed which would complement SJax great, and has the size and power to be the future for the Rams. There will be more than one player that will be first round talents that will fall to the first pick in the second round, but if I had a choice between Lamar Miller, Zach Brown and David Wilson I would chose Wilson every time.

(Browns) Kevin Zeitler OG Wisconsin 6-4 315

Kevin Zeitler may me the most underrated player in this draft, in my opinion he is not that far from DeCastro as an overall guard. He is excellent at both pass blocking and run blocking and would bolster every position on the line except center which would have to be addressed in Free Agency.

Round 3

Bobby Wagner OLB Utah State 6-0 241

The big athletic body of Bobby Wagner can split gaps and come up and hit you and also can play coverage and play it well.Wagner is also fast and physical enough to rush the passer on blitzes which will be something he would definitely be doing in Gregg Williams defensive system.

Round 4

Joe Adams WR Arkansas 5-11 174

The Rams desperately need speed, and speed you would get with Joe Adams on punt returns and as a situational receiver. And if Adams was selected in the third, you could go with TY Hilton to fill the same role.

(Browns) Mike Martin DT Michigan 6-1 307

The Rams finally get their defensive tackle in the draft with Mike Martin who's nasty playing style to get at the passer and defend the run impressed me a lot at the Senior Bowl. Martin finished his career at Michigan with 10 sacks.

Round 6

Jaye Howard DT Florida 6-3 303

Another defensive tackle that I really liked at the Senior Bowl showing impressive pass rushing skills and could end up being a steal in the sixth round. Howard finished his career with 8 sacks.

Round 7

Darron Thomas QB/WR Oregon 6-3 215

Darron Thomas really interests me as a project in the seventh round as a quarterback or at wide receiver.
