The Rams are clinging to hope, while the Buccaneers look to play spoiler and regain some confidence heading into 2013.
The St. Louis Rams travel to Tampa Bay this week to face the Buccaneers. Tampa's season is effectively over, but the Rams are clinging to a slender chance they can find a way into the playoffs as a wild card with their 6-7-1 record.
St. Louis's pass rush has been one of the league's best this season. Combining for 41 sacks, Robert Quinn and Chris Long have been extremely disruptive, and when paired with rookie Michael Brockers, they represent the future of the Rams' defense. The Buccaneers have allowed just 21 sacks this season, and the battle in the trenches will be one to watch on Sunday.
December hasn't been kind to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who haven't won a game since November 18th against the Carolina Panthers. Rookie standout Doug Martin looks to have hit the rookie wall hard, and since that point, the Buccaneers haven't looked like the same team. Following a 41-0 loss last week at the hands of New Orleans, the Bucs will look to regain their composure.
