Danny Amendola injury: Rams WR dealing with foot injury; Scott Wells returns

Jed Jacobsohn

The St. Louis Rams could be without Danny Amendola this week.

Danny Amendola sat out Wednesday's practice with the St. Louis Rams, but he was not at home prepping his Thanksgiving turkey. Amendola sat out practice with a foot injury. There's a chance he could sit out Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals too.

"Danny didn't practice with a foot," head coach Jeff Fisher said. "We'll see how he is tomorrow."

He was wearing a walking boot earlier in the week, the lingering results of the injury he suffered in last week's loss to the New York Jets.

Scott Wells practiced again, though it's not clear if he will start this week after missing the bulk of the season thus far. The Rams don't have to press him into service with Robert Turner doing an outstanding job as a backup. Fisher praised the unsung lineman in his post-practice press conference.

"Rob, gosh, he just filled right in from the get go," Fisher said. "He's run things up front with Sam. He's keeping everybody calm and makes the calls and adjustments. So, he's done a nice job. It's great that he's got versatility. He can play center and guard."

Quarterback Sam Bradford echoed those sentiments.

"Rob's done a great job," Bradford said. "Obviously, he's been in this system for a long time. It's a tough position to step in to, especially when you started at guard and then had to move back to center. But, I think he's done a tremendous job stepping in and just taking over that leadership role on the offensive line."

Having played with Turner for the last 11 weeks of the season, Bradford noted the adjustment of having a new ass to put his hands under.

"I think the biggest thing for me is learning to take snaps from him," Bradford said of having Wells back. "Obviously, I've taken snaps from (C) Rob (Turner) for the past nine, ten weeks. They snap it in a different way. Just getting comfortable with those again. I don't think the line calls really should be a problem."
