The St. Louis Rams might have their top receiver on the field this week after all.

Danny Amendola was seen on the practice field earlier this week, wearing a helmet and catching passes from Sam Bradford. After a pair of tough losses, fans were buzzing about the possibility of the St. Louis Rams getting their top receiver back in the mix the mix. But it was never really clear whether or not he would actually be back on the field this week.

The Post-Dispatch threw cold water on the idea Thursday morning, citing sources close to Amendola:

There's no way Amendola plays this Sunday against New England. But with a bye week once the team returns to the U.S., don't be surprised if Amendola is in the lineup Nov. 11 in San Francisco.

And then the injury report came out, and suddenly he had a chance. Depends how he feels, the receiver and his head coach told the world.

As of Friday morning, US time, Amendola is officially listed as questionable on the injury report, meaning he has a 50-50 chance of playing this week.

Well, well, well, this is very good news indeed for the Rams, whose offense is moving the ball, but struggling for completeness. Getting Amendola into the mix with a functioning running game and an emerging deep threat in Chris Givens would definitely be an improvement for the offense.

Stay tuned.
