crazy idea mock and more
Let's say that these players won't redo their contracts and or are free agents, so they are gone:
Jason Brown (OC), James Butler(SS), Justin King(CB), Jason Smith(OT), Brandon Gibson(WR), Fred Robbins(DT), Craig Dahl(SS), Donnie Jones(PT), Mike Hoomanawanui(TE), Gary Gibson(DT),Justin Bannan(DT) . I just think that we can do better with other players other than these because, some can't stay healthly, others can perform well during the season, some are just up there in age.
How about we resign these players: Brit Miller(FB), Danny Amendola(WR), Brandon LLoyd(WR), Chris Chamberlain(OLB), Darian Stewart(SS), Nick Miller(WR/PR/KR). What can i say both Brandon Lloyd and Danny Amendola were Sam's go to guys during the season, once Danny was hurt other than Greg Salsa no WR helped Sam out. I think that both Chris and Darian played very well during the season to come back and try to earn a starting position, if not then have them start on special teams. I think Nick Miller can become an explose punt returner and kick returner if given the chance. Brit Miller when healthly was able to open up some running lanes for Steven Jackson and should return since we are going to be a run first offense.
With all this talk about trading with Cleveland or trading with Washington. Let's say that when both teams are trying to discuss a trade that would land them RGIII, ( now here me out ) Seattle Seahawks come in with a better trade option and we TRADE with Seattle instead of Cleveland or Washington since Seattle also needs a quarterback. Seattle would get the #2 pick in the draft, we get their 1st (#12), 2nd (#43), 3rd (#76), 4th (#106) and 5th (#139) round picks in this years draft and a 2nd and 5th round picks in 2013.
#12 Rd 1 - Michael Floyd(WR) - Notre Dame (6'3 - 228) - Will be Sam's # 1 Receiver #33 Rd 2 - Zach Brown(OLB) - North Carolina (6'2 - 230) - Will be a stud Will LB next to James L.
#43 Rd 2 - Zebrie Sanders(OT) - Florida State (6'5 - 307) - Can play either LT or RT.
#66 Rd 3 - Doug Martin(RB) - Boise State (5'9 - 210) - He plays fast, runs low and looks natural in pick up blitzes on 3rd down
#76 Rd 3 - Mike Brewster(OC) - Ohio State (6'4 - 305) - Excellent in pass protection, good in run blocking.
#96 Rd 4 - Michael Egnew(TE) - Missouri (6'5 - 242) - Will Create mismatches on the field and plays stronger than he is.
#106 Rd 4 - Terrell Manning(OLB) - North Carolina State (6'3 - 233) - Has excellent speed, strenght, and quickness for the weakside LB
#139 Rd 5 - Nicolas Jean-Baptiste(DT) - Baylor (6'2 - 335) - Has good size & power but has to improve his pass rush
#160 Rd 6 - Brian Peters(SS) - Northwestern (6'4 - 215) - excellent tackler, good hands and can cover TE.
#192 Rd 7 - Bryan Anger(DT) - California (6'4 - 207) - Good strong leg and can great hang time on his kicks
Here is the website where you can find good evaluations on all the players in the draft, they give good info:

How about these free agents if we have enough cap space: Jason Jones(DT), John Carlson(TE), Cortland Finnegan(CB), Red Bryant(DT), Demetrius Bell(OT).
Let me know what you think.

Devil's Advocate
Looking at things from a Seahawk perspective; the asking price is much too high.
Counteroffer: In exchange for the 2nd overall pick; Seattle compensates with:
Players: OLB K.J. Wright and OT James Carpenter; Seattle’s 12th pick in the 1st round, and 2nd round pick. In 2013 Seattle’s 1st round pick.
What you just proposed is a much higher price
That is 3 first round picks. They are not going to give up Carpenter.
Disagree
Seattle would be giving up the corps portion of their draft: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th. Seattle overvalued Carpenter in the draft. I do not look at Carpenter as a 1st rounder. The only 1st round pick I would be giving up is the one in 2013. In 2012; using this scenario, Seattle does not lose a #1 pick. They trade places with The Rams in order to move up to their second overall spot.
It doesn't matter where you value Carpenter
He is the Seahawks bargaining chip. They get to determine his value. Since they drafted him in the 1st just last year, good luck thinking that they will be discounting his value.
Actually, they aren't paying enough by basically another 3rd round pick
http://www.sportznutz.com/nfl/draft/draft_point_value_chart.htm
So the Rams second overall is worth 2600.
To come up with Seattle’s, you add up all the points for 11th place for all the picks they gave up this year, and drop it a round for next year’s points. So its 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th, all of them with the 11th picks points spots.
So Seattle would give up 2289.5, Rams giving up 2600.
Either way, still won’t happen. We arent gonna give RG3 to a division rival
The Value Chart
I understand how the value chart can be useful as a tool used to determine the value of draft position. However, IMO, more factors must be considered:
The value or potential value of the individulal players being sought for a particular team.
Example: JaMarcus Russell. The QB according to value position is given the highest number based upon the importance of the position; which makes sense. Also the value given in terms of a high 1st round draft pick.
In the case of Russell who did not come close to those value determinants; how does the after effect of a player like Russell impact the value system; or does it? IMO one of the biggest flaws of the value chart is that it does not take into account the probability of a high position value player, taken in the early parts of the 1st round, not making the cut.
That's true, that the value of the player has to be taken into account
But I have read in a couple places that this Rams pick is the most valuable AVAILABLE pick since Michael Vick. There are 2 incredibly highly rated QBs, then the drop off is enormous. Although there will likely be another 1 or 2 taken in the first round, after Luck and RG3, ZERO will be GRADED to be picked in the first round.
So if you don’t get the Rams pick, and it goes to someone else, or RG3 falls to Cleveland, the next QB is generally considered to be an entire round worse
That is virtually their whole draft!
Will never happen. In addition, Tavaris Jackson, while not being a quality NFL starter, was not THAT bad, not give-away-a-whole-draft-for-his-replacement bad. Now, for Matt Barkley next year…
Can't see it happening
There’s no way the Rams trade with a division rival so they can draft a player like RG3. And Seattle aren’t just a QB away from the division title so they won’t give up all those picks when they need to address several holes in their roster
