Ravens Vs. Patriots 2012: AFC Championship Game Thread

ST. LOUIS, MO - SEPTEMBER 25: Bernard Pollard #31 of the Baltimore Ravens hits Sam Bradford #8 of the St. Louis Rams after the pass at the Edward Jones Dome on September 25, 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri. (Photo by Jeff Curry/Getty Images)

One more slate of games until the big one. Of course, there's more than enough to keep fans of the St. Louis Rams occupied. The AFC opens things up today, with the Baltimore Ravens traveling to play the New England Patriots.

The Rams played three of the four teams in the conference championships today. The Pats were the only team they did not play, but will have that opportunity later this year in the London game.

Baltimore beat the Rams by a final score of 37-7. The game was one of those rare occasions to piss off Steve Spagnuolo, who in a huff told his wife that they would no longer be speaking with the Harbaughs. He softened his stance a day later.

I really have no vested rooting interest in either of these teams. It's a sham if Josh McDaniels ends up getting a Super Bowl ring this season given his body of work in St. Louis, so there is that.

Complete coverage of the game can be found over at SB Nation's dedicated AFC Championship story stream, including highlights, news, etc.

I've got my weekly mock draft posting tomorrow at SB Nation, so stay tuned for that.

Catch up on the week that was in the multitude of stories below!

You want my help on your Mock draft? Hahaha!

It seems I picked a player (Whitney Mercilius) I thought was great for Cleveland last night, that isn’t in the Top 10 at his position…
You should have Aaron Dobson somewhere in your Mock. No one else does, so you can be the first! :-)

I liked the pick if it means anything lol

I have that too

I don’t think anyone has updated it since the beginning of the season and Mercilius came out of nowhere this season so that would be why he isn’t listed

Put I’m thinking it’ll be New England vs New York.

Cam Cameron and Flacco will not be able to beat Patriots and keep up with them scoring, especially in Foxboro

Eli will beat that San Fran D and Alex Smith will make everyone forget the Saints game and cock it up. No overzealous blitzes, just a beastly 4 man rush and solid coverage.

This is random, but if Hue is considering taking a QB coach Job then why not the Rams???

He would be great with Bradford, report via rotoworld.

The Cardinals will interview ex-Raiders head coach Hue Jackson for their quarterbacks coach vacancy.
Jackson recently lost out to Brian Schottenheimer for the Rams’ offensive coordinator gig and has not been formally linked to other jobs. Jackson has been a position coach before, overseeing QBs in Baltimore and WRs in Cincinnati.

by jpcisco on Jan 22, 2012 3:31 PM CST reply actions

I dont know if after losing out for OC here he’d interview here for a lesser job though.

Yea, Hue's pride might eliminate us...

I think the Raiders made a HORRIBLE move in getting rid of Hue. He is going to be a very good HC at some point. The only problem a team has with signing Hue is he will probably bolt for the first HC job offered to him. He will probably be a 1 and done with whoever he signs with.
