SBnation 2012 Mock Draft
Greetings Turf Show Times, P_Roach17 here from Bleeding Green Nation attempting to organize a SBnation-wide mock draft. After a disappointing season for my Birds, (and not wishing to watch the Giants delve deeper into the post season) I'm left with a football void at my core. So, as a result, I'm turning to the rest of SBnation to satisfy not only my football needs, but the needs of others who are on the outside looking in during this 2011 postseason. You will of course be representing the St. Louis Rams in this Draft, who currently hold the 2nd overall pick in the 2012 draft, as I'm sure you all know. Your cooperation in this poll is greatly appreciated. Now for a few quick rules.
Rules:
1) There will be no trading picks. Trading picks would be both complicated, and time consuming, so everyone will just stay put at their set draft position.
2) Submit your votes for the player of your choice as soon as possible. After 2 days the results of the poll will be final, Stampede Blue will submit its pick at 1am on 1/24/12, and Turf Show Times will be on the clock.
3) If you feel as though I have left a player out that deserves consideration as your teams draft selection, then let me know in the comments section, and I will gladly add them.
4) Any draft talk (or argument) that is to be made pertaining to your Colts' pick, feel free to make in the comments section.
5) ******** Be sure to rec this post so that it will remain under the recommended fan post section for everyone to see, and so that they are able to cast their vote *********
With the 1st overall selection Stampede Blue, representing the Indianapolis Colts, selected Andrew Luck, who received an overwhelming 89% of the vote.
Hopefully this can be a fun experience for all of SBnation, as well as provide insight into the upcoming NFL draft. Be sure to vote and keep the ball rolling so that the rest of SBnation can participate. Thanks for your time, and good luck in the upcoming season. Turf Show Times is now on the clock!

Kalil
Been losing sleep over Rams football since 1999.
Steven Jackson is a beast, a legend, a HoFer and should be treated as such.
IMO Kalil should be the pick here
Blackmon is an excellent receiver, don’t get me wrong, but he does not possess the speed of Julio Jones or A.J. Green, who were drafted with premium picks last year. Also, the WR free agent pool is very deep this year, so the Rams could easily help to fill the void there. Kalil is hands down the best lineman in this years draft, and I think the number one priority has to be keeping Bradford upright.
Look what Lloyd did for the Rams
Blackmon has better speed than him. Speed is the most overrated WR measurable BY FAR
The correct pick is Blackmon
There is TALENT in the offensive line. Fish and Co should get a year to work with him. There is no talent at WR, unless they miraculously are able to resign Lloyd.

FA WR
Smith is 1 concussion away from retirement, Bell is gone, Saffold is better at RT, and we could use a C as well. I’d like to see us get young talent for the o-line while we have Dahl as a veteran presence to mentor. There are plenty WR available in FA and maybe Floyd/Jeffrey fall to the 2nd round.

Kalil for me
We finally have a new owner who won’t be selling, we have a CBA for the next 9 years, we have a QB for the next decade plus, we need to protect him first, then get his #1 receiver. We can do better than Blackmon in FA. We probably won’t but we could if we wanted to. We can’t do that for an LOT.
