Former Rams GM Billy Devaney Thanks Fans, Bids Farewell
Former St. Louis Rams General Manager Billy Devaney released a statement on Monday, following his firing by the team. Here' the statement from Devaney who bid St. Louis a fond farewell today. Opinions about the direction of Rams over the last three years, Devaney was a solid guy. I remember him taking time beyond his scheduled interview time at the Combine last year to talk more, a move he didn't have to make.
I want to thank so many people for my time here in St. Louis. While certainly disappointed in our record, I wouldn't trade that time for anything. This is truly a special place.
I thank old and new friends made. I thank Stan Kroenke, Chip Rosenbloom, Lucia Rodriguez and the entire Rams organization. I wish you all much success. I thank all Rams fans. You are really great, great fans.
To all in St. Louis, I'll meet you further on up the road. Cheers!
As for what's next for Devaney, I suspect he can land on his feet in another personnel department. Personally, I think he'd be a much better broadcaster or studio analyst than a lot of the former front office guys you see on the tube.

Just saw this on NFL.com
The St. Louis Rams hope to hire former Tennessee Titans coach Jeff Fisher, along with a young general manager, league sources said Monday.
Fisher has been atop the Rams’ head-coach wish list for some time as a replacement for Steve Spagnuolo, who was fired, along with GM Billy Devaney, on Monday. The Miami Dokphins also have asked Fisher to interview for their head-coaching vacancy.
Several league sources indicate the Rams have compiled a list of general manager candidates that includes up-and-coming personnel names, with the goal being to hire Fisher, have him participate in the interviewing process of the general manager and form a tandem that would satisfy the veteran coach.
According to the sources, Atlanta’s Les Snead, Kansas City’s Ray Farmer, Seattle’s Will Lewis and Tennessee’s Lake Dawson are among the top candidates for the position, with Dawson having worked with Fisher when he was coach of the Titans. Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff is involved in the process with owner Stan Kroenke and has been helping to put together candidates.
Demoff’s father, Marvin, is Fisher’s longtime agent. Snead also is on the short list for the Oakland Raiders’ general manager opening, along with Green Bay’s Reggie McKenzie, Baltimore’s Eric DeCosta and San Francisco’s Tom Gamble.

Not so fast there Millen, you need to satisfy the Rooney rule
and the Rams should get that interview out of the way. But other teams find ways around it like Pete Carrol.
I wouldn’t trade that time for anything.
I would for a winning season.
Beating off the dog is never appropriate when we have company over...... I mean EVER!
FISHER
If Fisher is the coach that would be great. One name that is connected to him is Floyd Reese. Outstanding personel guy look up his history now in New England I think . McNair, Eddie.George his resume is not just limited to the Titans 3 rookie of the yr. This is proven time in time again he has the skills to find talent ………
Floyd Reese HATES Jeff Fisher now
because Reese was fired by Bud Adams after a power struggle with Jeff. Reese supported Jeff during the tough years, but Reese became the scapegoat.
he sucked

Farewell Billy D, thanks
For ruining our team. Thanks for drafting horribly after the 2nd or 3rd round. Thanks for refusing to go after big name free agents until it was too late (see B Lloyd) thanks for allowing our Franchise QB to be used as a punching bag, thanks for allowing the leagues best RB to run behind a horrible OL year after year, thanks for allowing our RB to not have a FB, the list goes on Billy D, but the gist is, thanks for nothing.

You forgot to add:
Thanks for not hiring a coaching staff that could develop any of our young talent, and thanks for giving away, er I mean trading several first and second round picks for seventh rounders, or just cutting them outright. (Klop, Carriker, Hill)
In short, thanks for taking a perenial 6 win team and making us a 2 win team.
