Jeff Fisher Plans To Have Rams OC Hired By Sunday

St. Louis Rams head coach Jeff Fisher is making the media rounds lately, helping put his new team back on the national radar. Fisher is squeezing in media appearances between the search for his coaching staff. During a Thursday appearance on the Jim Rome radio show, Fisher said that he hopes to have his offensive coordinator hired within the next two to three days.

The list of potential offensive coordinators is so far limited to just two names: Brian Schottenheimer and Hue Jackson. Over the weekend, Michael Lombardi of the NFL Network even reported that Schottenheimer had been hired, following a Sunday interview with Fisher. That turned out to be a little premature as news broke on Monday that Hue Jackson would get some face time with Fisher for the gig.

Fisher and Jackson met yesterday, as reported by multiple outlets including Jim Thomas at the Post-Dispatch. We reported last night, per sources, that Fisher met Jackson in Cincinnati at the Cincinnatian Hotel.

Both Jackson and Schottenheimer have been interviewed, and now we wait. With no other candidates known to be in the mix, it's probably a safe assumption that one of these two guys will get the job.

Fisher has already hired Gregg Williams as the team's defensive coordinator.

Is Hue really that good?

I don’t know much about him.

Well...

He managed to keep the Raider’s offense in the top 10 of the NFL in total yards, despite losing Darren McFadden in week 6 and Jason Campbell in week 7. Heyward-Bey finally started performing during his time in Oakland. He did a lot better in Oakland than McD did for us last year, that’s for damn sure.

Two things about me will never change. I will always root for the Rams, and I will always root against the Niners.

Good, he should be busy.

We’ve got a whole lot of holes and he doesn’t have much time to try and plug them.

I'd love it if we hired Hue..

But I’d also love it if we were able to hire Clements and he’d be able to install the WCO for us again

i believe hue better suits fisher's style

with him believing in having his coaches call the plays you just know he will look to get someone who matches his vision of an offense.

Any candidates for ST Coach?

I think the future ST coach will be a major component to our success next year as well. Think back to all the games we lost due to piss poor ST play in terms of returning and covering. I hope that we get someone who can finally help Sam reach his potential because our defense should be straight. So as long as we don’t keep treating ST like the ugly step-child we may make some noise! Go Rams!!!!!!

Good luck guys

Have my fingers crossed for you to avoid the plague that is Brian Schottenheimer. Although, it sure would be nice to play against a Schottenheimer offense in London next season.
