Rams Need To Draft Down With Cleveland.......
The Rams need to draft down with Cleveland. Why?
1) Cleveland has 2 first round picks. With the # 4 pick, they can still address one of several needs with a player rich in talent. They would then get the # 22 pick which would help them fill another one of several needs in a draft filled with talent. Possibly the best all around talent in an NFL draft ever. Cleveland is the only team with 2 first round picks besides Cincinnati. However, Cincinnati's first pick is to low compared to Cleveland's. (# 17)
2) They would then have a minimal of 2 picks in the next four rounds of the draft if Cleveland really wants to get RG III. # 33, 37, 66, 68, 96, 100. Even if Cleveland gives up only both first, second round picks, that still gives us 6 picks in the first three rounds. All of these picks, except for # 22 in the first round are in the top 5 of each round. Think of the talent they could get to fill so many needs so quickly versus getting just one player in the first round.
3) Cleveland is in the AFC. Why would we want to trade a # 2 pick to an NFC team that somewhere down the road we may face in the playoffs to the Super Bowl?
4) . At the # 4 pick NOT the # 6 pick as some speculate, we would still be able to get one of the following play makers with the # 4 pick, Trent Richardson or Justin Blackmon. I'm leaning towards Richardson. We drafted young talented receivers last year and SJ is not getting any younger. We also need to re-sign Brandon Lloyd. We have plenty of talented receivers, the issue is keeping them healthy. Remember, the running game and passing game need to compliment each other.
