Rams To Interview Rob Chudzinski For Head Coaching Job

Jeff Fisher may or may not have made a decision about his head coaching future. Meanwhile both the St. Louis Rams and the Miami Dolphins are exploring other candidates. The St. Louis Rams will interview Carolina Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski, according to Adam Schefter.

Put Chudzinski in the "hot coordinators" category of head coaching candidates. 2011 was his first year with the Panthers. Like Jay Gruden, he made waves this year thanks to the stellar play of a rookie quarterback. How much of Cam Newton's success was Cam Newton's and how much was Chudzinski's design. As is true with most things, it takes a lot of both.

Prior to his current job, Chud was the tight ends coach for two years in San Diego. He was the offensive coordinator in Cleveland in 2007 and 2008, but was part of the coaching staff purge following that season.

Chud was also a candidate for the Jacksonville job that has since gone to Mike Mularky. Carolina reportedly wants to hang onto him after what they did this season.

Allow me to be the first to say

I would support this move.

I think "Chud" is the top HC prospect out there right now

His biggest downside is his lack of HC experience. What I like about him is that he isn’t an OC that is just about Xs and Os; he’s deeply involved at every position

Lmao, another coaching option via rotoworld

The Rams have received permission to interview Saints OL coach Aaron Kromer for their head-coaching vacancy.
St. Louis seems to be insistent upon finding a head coach before a general manager. Kromer is in his third year as the Saints’ O-Line coach and running game coordinator. In New Orleans, Kromer has overseen the development of middle-round picks Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks, who’ve gone on to be All-Pro guards.

I want the CHUD!!!!!!!!!

He’s been at the top of my list since Spags got fired.

Give me

Kromer. It’s the OL that is in need of the most help. I am not so sold on Chud. What did the guy do in 2009 and 2010? Was he even in football? Let’s face it we will not be running Sam anytime soon. He had a QB that had a spectacular seaso as a rookie but alot of it was due to his athletic ability. Last time I checked that is not coached so I don’t think it translates over to our offense.

As I posted earlier

don’t you think, after working with an athlete like Newton, Chudzinski would really be tempted to keep the #2 pick and take RGIII for himself ?

I mean, a mobile QB gives so many more possibilities in play design…

The Rams

cannot afford to trade Sam – literally. Personally I think RG3 will not be as effective as Newton was this year. Newton / Chud had a couple good backs, 2 top TE, and Steve Smith. Last time I checked the Rams dont have that.

Chud

Bring Jonathan Stewart along with you. It may be that he knows how to adapt his scheme to the personnel on the roster, this would be a nice change.
Is Billick not interest in coaching?
