Has Jeff Fisher Picked The Dolphins?
Is today the day that Jeff Fisher makes a decision? That's the question everyone has been asking since Fisher wrapped up the second part of his courtship with the St. Louis Rams with a visit to Rams Park. He's weighing whether or not to take that job or one with the Miami Dolphins, and today could be the day that he announces his decision, according to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald.
Salguero cites a source who says that Fisher will finalize his decision today. From there, he'll begin the process of negotiating a deal and lining up all the other little matters that shape his next head coaching job. This report differs slightly from others who said that Fisher would reach a decision on Thursday, so don't be surprised if there's no news on Fisher today.
As for which team Fisher will pick, that's still the subject of much speculation. Many feel that the Rams job is the league's best landing spot. Adam Schefter of ESPN maintains his belief that Fisher will choose the Dolphins.
While writing this update, I came across the news that ESPN radio in Florida is reporting that Fisher will go with the Dolphins and an announcement is expected later today. There is no other confirmation of that report besides a Palm Beach television news anchor.
Stay tuned. We'll be following the minute-by-minute @TurfShowTimes on Twitter.

oh hell I hope it isn’t true.
But if it is and Miami wants RG3, I’d make them pay dearly! Cause as much as a friend of mine likes Matt Moore, he is no franchise QB and the Dolphins will be in need of one!

As a St. Louisan (close enough) this sort of scares me
I don’t like him as a coach and didn’t want him until I heard that the Rams staying in St. Louis was important to him. Not that I’d expect it, but it’d sure be great for him to give us a heads up.

I won't believe it either.
But I tell you I am sick and tired of this organization hiring Cs instead of solid coaches. Damn it! This would suck.
Done with the negativity.
Go Rams!
They will notice and they will giggle.
well I hope he picks the Rams cause it'll give him an opportunity that some coach's
would give there left arm to have. I think that if he does go to Miami I think he’ll find himself limited.

Rams....
Bring back Dick Vermeil!! Not sure if a proven coach is a guarantee of winning or at least being competitive. Look at Mike Shanahan for the Redskins. Before that, Joe Gibbs was brought back.
I have no issues with hiring a qualified assistant coach. It’s worked for the Saints, Packers, Ravens, Steelers, Cardinals – with Kurt Warner, etc. It’s a definite crapshoot when hiring an assistant coach. But it’s no walk in the park hiring a proven head coach also.
I wouldn’t mind Haley as an offensive coordinator. He proved himself with the Cardinals. And he holds players accountable. I remember when he wouldn’t take crap from Boudin when he “gave up” in a playoff game because he felt he wasn’t getting enough balls thrown his way.
Hire Whitey Herzog!!!!!!!!!!!!1111!!!!11!!!!!!1!!!!!!!!!

OK if true
I won’t be renewing my PSLs this season unless Stan Kronke publicly commits to staying in St. Louis. I’m sick of this 2nd rate bullshit.
More evidence
that the Rams may be on their way to LA.

Are the Raiders still out of the picture?
I thought I heard they fired their HC…. Some stories about it being a good fit for Fisher (but to my knowledge the parties have not met.)
They could double the Dolphins offer
And Fisher would still never consider it. This is for Fisher’s career.

if thats the case...
then we called it. if he does choose miami then this sob isnt taking this job serious in my eyes. theres NOTHING in miami! no qb, no running gm, nothing. the only reason he is going (if he chooses) is the freakin money. i will be soo freakin pissed off man trust me…i will show it!

I don't want to be chicken little...
…but this would be a big black eye for the Rams if they don’t get Fisher. They selected the guy they wanted most, and went after him hard, and if they don’t get him, it’s not going to look good. Whoever they do wind up hiring is going to come in with less credibility because they won’t have selected him, they’ll have settled for him.
Now, none of that matters if the new coach comes in and wins, but it’s the sort of thing that can snowball. Fans aren’t enthused by the hire and don’t buy tickets. Players don’t buy into the new program as much. There’s a bunch of little ways that it can undermine a team.
They had most of the advantages here. If they lose out because they couldn’t convince Fisher that the situation would be stable, or because they were too stingy with the money, it’s bad news.
Rob Chudzinksi is my plan B

From Dolphins SBN page:
ESPN Radio DID NOT report Fisher hired by #Dolphins. That is absolutely false.
ESPN760’s Ken LaVicka
The disinformation continues.
Thanks for adding that, man.

Rams scheduled to interview Panthers offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski for their head coaching job Thursday.

Chudzinski ?
AP source: Rams get OK to interview Chudzinski
He worked with Cam Newton this season and seemed to be quite succesfull.

Sam’s contract is way too big and we can’t move it, even if he’s traded.

Said it before
Fisher us not sold in bradford, Miami would be more willing to trade up and get RG3 than the rams would be getting him.rams owner has already said he still believes in Sam, so he’s going nowhere.

Hey Brick Top -
Relax! He just reached his pinnacle by finishing #2 in N.H. That’s a wrap for him!
If we don’t get Fisher I say we just F it and hire Rob Ryan, Hue Jackson and Tom Cable. They can all play head coach for a quarter and whoever has the best quarter gets to handle things during the 4th quarter. With those three on the sidelines we will have plenty of entertainment value win or lose. In addition, there is plenty of room for unsavory tudes or questionable character so bring on buckeyefans Paige-Moss, Burfick and throw in Janoris Jenkins and Floyd. We are on our way to a dynasty!
No Le Ram -
Mark Davis is the next Al Davis. That picture of he and McKenzie was simply freaky!
NFL.com reporting
that Fisher is close to a decision and has apparently chosen the Dolphins….
Knew it! He wants RG3..
Bradford + Blackmon = Secondaries Beware
by RG31 on Jan 11, 2012 1:00 PM CST via mobile up reply actions
The best way for him to get RG3 is
to have chosen the Rams. Now he has to turnover Fort Knox in exchange for RG3.
Hypothetical
What if 11hr a team calls the Rams on draft day wanting to trade for NOt RG3 but Sam Bradford with a cache of picks?
Woukdnt it be fucked up if
Fish goes to Miami then ask rams to trade but not for RG3 but for bradford, and that’s what they talked about when he visited? xD

is this story true?
i canr believe this shit man! soo sorry for the vulgarity but damn! im getting pissed at this dude! hes pulled a lebron on everyone for the last 2 weeks, hes lovin’ this crap, keeping everyone in the loop.
I don't think RG3 has anything to
do with his decision. I think it has everything to do with the L.A. Rams. Fisher doesn’t want to pack up and move again. He probably asked Stan for a huge severance package if the team moves to L.A. and Stan said no.
If Stan really is planning to head to L.A. he needs to think of a coach who has west coast roots or has no problem with the move. AEG and Kroenke are a couple!
Fisher
Sounds like the Rams are likely heading back to LA. There are several investor groups who are looking at putting a stadium in place near the Staples Center. The NFL wants to put a team back there as it is the 2nd biggest tv market.
I dont understand where everyone is getting the Rams move back to L.A. from Fishers decision????
I know it was one of his questions but just because he chose the Dolphins doesnt mean the Rams are automatically going back to L.A.. That is people just making wild assumptions!
Or maybe Sam F'd up the
interview with Fisher. LOL!
miami spies started the LAchatter to hook the fish

RG3 will bring in a
much larger cache of picks than Sam would at this point. Sam’s heavy contract + putrid 2011 season would not be PR friendly to any acquiring team. The prospects of obtaining RG3 would be a PR bonanza though.
Stan should make a splash NOW and not with Fisher
… if Fisher doesn’t take the job, make an offer to Dungy or Cowher that they just cannot turn down. Give them $10M per season and full control and see who laughs last Miami or STL!! Kroenke has the money and the resources to do that, a good example is the Arsenal team and HC Wenger.
Or Jon Gruden, hahaha

I dont think Fisher's choice had anything to do with the Rams move or RG3...
From what I read from Michael Lombardi he is more impressed with the Dolphins “structure” than the Rams. Not sure what he means by that, Fisher basically would be choosing his own GM, but oh well we lost this one. Stl sports has had a rough winter: Pujols leaving,Fisher screwing us, and the Rams finishing 2-14. Horrible Winter for stl.
That was by far the BEST world series I have ever seen in my life....
game 6 was one of the best moments in St. Louis history. I still watch the highlights of that game every other week.
Fuck Fisher. He seriously pulled a lebron. Peace out bro!

It appears the Rams are ready to move on from Fisher, yet another HC interview with another new candidate.
The Rams have received permission to interview Saints OL coach Aaron Kromer for their head-coaching vacancy.
St. Louis seems to be insistent upon finding a head coach before a general manager. Kromer is in his third year as the Saints’ O-Line coach and running game coordinator. In New Orleans, Kromer has overseen the development of middle-round picks Jahri Evans and Carl Nicks, who’ve gone on to be All-Pro guards.
huh?
hire an O-Line coach to be a Head Coach?
Why not hire a special teams coach or stay in house and promote the Media Relations guy to be the HC.
Ok enough sarcasm.
I just hope we hear something from “Silent Stan” soon.
Then again maybe he’s busy getting a quote from United Vanlines.
by @EricFromSTL on Jan 11, 2012 1:42 PM CST via Android app up reply actions
Why can't this team get anyone
with HC experience? Well, I guess Del Rio and Billick are available!
Its obvious to me that Fisher is going to Miami, would be absolutely shocked if he doesnt..
Michael Lombardi of NFL.com is also reporting that the decision could be made as early as today and his sources tell him that Fisher is comfortable with the structure Miami has in place over the St. Louis Rams, the other team he interviewed with.
@ChrisBurke_si
Reports out that MIami is set to hire Jeff Fisher as its next head coach.Seemed like they had lost him acouple days ago.
Good score for Miami, sucks for us but I am sure we will find a decent HC.
Disappointed with the whole way Fisher handled this situation...
it dragged on alot longer than it should have and just dont like the way he handled it. He has strung us along for about 2 weeks. I hope the media coverage stays with Fisher all year so when they wind up 4-12 he will be on the hot seat. I hope he crashes and burns in Miami.
Well we'll be playing a key factor in that hope of yours
seeing as how the Rams will be traveling to Miami next season.

Also In Miami
I think Jeff Fisher and his agent are trying to leverage the best possible deal from the St. Louis Rams (more control, salary escalators, increased pay if team does move back to LA). All the pro-Dolphins leaks are coming out of his camp.
