(Hey, okay let me first say these are all players i would like to see on our team, in the order from most likely to least likely that they will be available for the 33rd overall pick of the 2012 draft)
Okay so its no surprise that the Rams are expected to get Blackmon, Kalil, or trade with there first pick. But i have been way more interested in the less obvious 2nd round pick. Which also will be the first of the second round (swapping positions back and fourth with colts). I've been mulling over a litter of great prospects that could easily fall to us for the first pick in the second round. Also some of these prospects could also be available for us in the late first round and early 2nd round(if you were thinking more of the possibility of trading the second overall pick).
Anyways let not get ahead of ourselves check out the prospect after the jump.
Chase Minnifield, CB/KR, Virginia : When up to 8 CB's go on IR over the course of the season, I don't care who says they'll be back and ready next year, I'm getting depth. His last name Minnifield means to-make-field-small(or miniture) is ideal for a CB. Okay so that's a complete lie but he can tackle mui beuno and has great coverage skills and hands.
Jayron Hosley, CB, Virginia Tech: Obviously Chase is my first choice of corners but Jayron Hosley is also another viable option that could be here as well.
Brandon Thompson, DT, Clemson : A great talent at the DT position, is listed on a few boards in this spot.
Mike Adams, OT, Ohio State : Assuming we pick Blackmon over Kalil, Mike Adams would be a nice addition to our failing O-line, and Jason Smiths replacement.
Dontari Poe, NT, Memphis : Okay i know he is thought of as a 3-4 type DT, but hey there's no harm in having a 6'5" 350lbs DT in any type of short yardage situation.( Think about how Seatle is using a certain Red Bryant with similar size comparisons) So far ive been alone on this one but id love to see some size on our team.
Zach Brown, OLB, North Carolina : With Robert Quinn doing such an exceptional job in a limited role this season, i dont see why we dont look back to The TarHeels to supply as with a much needed linebacker. ( Brown has been popular in this spot on a few draft boards, I really hope he falls to this spot)
Mohamed Sanu, WR, Rutgers : Its lookin like where gonna lose Llyod in FA, and If we dont pick another WR up or draft Blackmon this would be a sweet steal in the second round. I think even this might be a long shot that Sanu falls this far but there are at least 5 WR's i can see going in the first round(Blackmon, Jeffrey, Floyd, and Wright and Jones)
Please Let me know what you think of some of these picks that could be available in the Second Round.
