Rams "Aren't Expected" to Franchise Brandon Lloyd

With the Monday deadline fast approaching, we've seen a slew of franchise tags sent out to lock down players for one more year.

However, what we haven't heard much of is whether or not the Rams plan to use their own tag. The Rams don't exactly have many players that would be considered good enough to warrant such a high price tag and only one makes any sense out of the 20+ UFA's the Rams have: Brandon Lloyd.

According to Jim Thomas, the Rams aren't expected to tag Lloyd. Turf Show Times picked up some exposure after Ryan reported that the Rams are in discussions with Lloyd about bringing him back. It now appears however, that those plans do not include a franchise tag.

Lloyd had 683 yards off of 53 receptions with 5 touchdowns in 11 games for the Rams last year. He was the Rams top receiver (by over 250 yards), even though he was traded a third of the way through the season.
