Donnie Avery cut, DX makes team
Mike Sando has just tweeted that Donnie Avery has joined Mardy Gilyard and has been cut from the team. DX has made the final 53-man roster. I probably would've preferred it the other way around but it looks like the wide receiver situation is starting to shake out. This probably means that MSW and Brandon Gibson are in as well. This has probably been the #1 position battle this offseason as far as most of us were concerned. So it LOOKS LIKE the wide receiver position will be:
Brandon Gibson
Mark Clayton (PUP List)
Thoughts everyone???

The longer the day went on the more likely DX was gonna make the team. I think the group has the ability will just have to wait and see.
However DX and Pettis are kind of on notice. Come week 6 and 7, another decision will need to be made.
I am hoping it's Pettis to the practice squad.
That will mean that Alexander has been healthy and made an impact.

We will either be praisin dx or cutting him due to injuries. Not because of his abilities

I don't mind keep Pettis, let the guy develop he's barely had time
But why are we keeping DX? His knee is equivalent to spaghetti noodles, he was outperformed by Avery, and Avery has been more consistent. I just don’t get it. Hopefully, the Front Office can prove me wrong, and hopefully Avery doesn’t go to Arizona to light us up all year.
Austin Pettis...show me what I've seen from you all those years in Boise St.
i hope he does
just so the fo can see how bad they f’d up
SJax is still a beast! Best RB in the league!

I promise you guys,
don’t sleep on Pettis. This kid is gonna be a stud. 27 receptions and 22 touchdown catches in the redzone in the last two years of college, more than the rest of his team combined in RZ touchdowns and most in the nation. This kid will develop into a real redzone threat.
"I kind of stepped my swagger up. You look at the Madden game and the swagger's so low, maybe they'll bump me up. Before it was a meatball flex, so you've got to liven it up a little bit." - Animal Jr.
What if?
Merely musing Pettis. I watched the Georgia vs.Boise game and the Boise QB is good. Had no name recievers and put on a clinic. Is that the reason Pettis did so well in college? Having a great QB. I can only hope it will translate into being in the right system, great QB and Pettis will come alive here with Sam. He’ll do fine in this system.
Kellen Moore
has unbelievable chemistry with all of his pass catchers, which is amazing since he lost his two starters. Pettis was a huge redzone help for Moore though, I saw it in person in the Las Vegas Bowl. Just threw it up in the corner and Pettis was there with an unbelievable grab.

That's the reason behind Ram's drafting him
He did that all through his college days. Being from Idaho, a lot of Boise games are on tv. I’m actually a vandal fan, but I never miss Boise games. Pettis will get his chance and he is a ball hog. I will be very surprised if he does not become nfl material.
Our WRs
Gibson – The sleeper. 1,000 yds this season.
MSW – Over-rated, but will have 6 TDs and 700 yds.
Danny – Will be the third down receiver we all thought he would.
Pettis – Will only be active for 1 or 2 games.
Salas – Same deal.
Clayton – Will be strong and have 500 yards in 10 games.
Curry – ST guy. Will be active for first 6 games for ST, then PSed when Clayton comes back.
DX – Will have two-three big highlight plays where he runs over 2-3 defenders and catches a perfect bomb from Sam.
Kendricks can go on the "Run Over People" list.
Might as well call him a WR because he learned all the positions.
Bye bye Donnie.
Haha! Told you so. Alexander has talent and that can’t be denied. They will give him a 6 game trial and if he is relatively injury free, he stays.

I am pleased with the cuts.
They went pretty much how I expected. I DID think we’d trade Avery, not cut him outright. But either way, this is a good day.
I can take a beating ... I'm a Rams fan.
when DX's knee goes "pop"
is when they’ll activate Clayton
