Round 1 Next Year WR/RB?

Who knows where we will be picking next year in the draft, but I feel we need to draft a WR or RB.  After the first game we all saw just how bad our WR core still is.  This unit needs to show some life this week and the rest of the season.

Mike Sims Walker-Were you even in the game week 1?

Danny Amendola- Tough luck and hope to get you back soon.  I hate to say this, but he may be our best trade bait player if Salas impress this year.

Brandon Gibson - You have never impressed me in your time here.  We have little options at WR so I guess we have to play him.  Looking forward to see someone else step up and take his job ASAP.

Mark Clayton + Health = - (Brandon Gibson)

DX + Health = - (Brandon Gibson)

Pettis- Please don't follow the path of Keenan Burton and Brooks Foster.  We need time to pass any judgement on this rookie.  Still would have preferred a different draft pick, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Salas - I can't wait to see if this guy will step up while Danny is out.  I really like this kid and I think he has a bright future.

As far as the running backs go we still need a replacement for Jackson.  Cadillac played very well the first week and look for him to repeat again in Week 2.  He will be a solid #2, but his age and injury history is a concern as a #1 RB.

I am in the camp to do whatever it takes in next years draft to get Sam a bad-ass #1 WR.  If this means trading later picks then so be it.  I am tired of drafting later round WR, it never seems to work out for us.  This obviously means that we will have no shot at drafting Trent Richardson, but there will always be solid value in round 2.  The value of RB has been declining in today's pass happy league.

My perfect scenario is to go WR round 1 and RB round 2.  Get Sam some explosive playmakers.

It is never to early to talk about next years draft.....

At this moment in time

we need a CB to play across from Fletcher. Bartell may never come back healthy and Murphy has as much (if not more) to prove than our WR’s. If we are going to be a pass rush team, we need good pass coverage from the CBs.

RBs can be found later in the draft.

If the FO does not look at a running back in next years draft I would not be upset I mean I don’t think toston is with anybody so in the offseason we could bring him back since he was playing well in the pre season & have him battle it out with norwood for the 3rd spot if norwood doesn’t show out! But brorams we are old on D so after taking Floyd who should be there when we pick should be our shoice & all D BPA goin down 2-7! U guys want offensive talent let the guys here mature & pick up a demps or rainey who is kinda small & may not be drafted! As well as a tight end because I don’t think ill ever be sold on Mike Hoomanawanui! (U don’t get a nickname nursing every bone on ur body)

I’m all for getting a wide out in the 1st but thats it! We need up grades on D!

not really

Our only big issues on D is CB but I guess ST could also be upgraded…

really for me it comes down to BPA

at WR, CB, OLB, DT, or RB in the first few rounds. I would be fine at doubling up in the draft at all of those positions except for RB

taking two players at one position

i.e taking Criner (WR) in the second and then T.Y Hilton (WR) in the 4th

yes I do

I didn’t like taking pettis and salas though. Hell I didn’t want to talk either of them individually, let alone both of them

depends on what recievers we take

for instance if we took Criner and Hilton I would keep:
Criner
Hilton
Amendola
Salas
Gibson
Pettis
Alexander

But, if we took someone like Floyd (a for sure #1 type reciever) and Fuller/Childs/Broyles (a great #2 type) then I would keep:
Floyd
Fuller/Broyles/Childs
Amendola
Salas
Pettis
Gibson
Sims-Walker/Clayton

completely agree

Punter.

Possibly a long snapper.
