Steven Jackson Injury: Jackson's Status Still TBD

ST. LOUIS, MO - SEPTEMBER 11: Steven Jackson #39 of the St. Louis Rams runs for a touchdown against the Philadelphia Eagles at the Edward Jones Dome on September 11, 2011 in St. Louis, Missouri. The Eagles defeated the Rams 31-15. (Photo by Jeff Curry/Getty Images)

St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson did not practice on Saturday as his team gets ready for a Monday Night Football appearance against the New York Giants. Despite not practicing, Jackson has yet to be ruled out for Monday's game. Head coach Steve Spagnuolo said that Jackson will be evaluated on Monday

Jackson missed practice time last year dealing with a groin injury and broken finger at various times, and still suited up for the team's game. The difference now is that the Rams have competent backup running backs in Cadillac Williams and Jerious Norwood, meaning Jackson does not have to pressed into service and risk further injury.

If you're looking at this from a fantasy football perspective, you should probably make plans without Jackson. A tireless competitor, Jackson may be uncomfortable sitting out, but the Rams need him to be available over the long haul of the season. Stay tuned.

Well I hope he can play as he gives us our best chance at winning. But I’d hate for him to become injured more. CW can take the bulk this week and give him some time off. Niners suck.

R U talking about a very long & large BOWEL?

Steven last year played in the fourth game against the She-Hags with a groin injury, wearing a strange leg contraption. Don’t worry about #39, don’t forget to take your meds on time!

Go RAMs !!!

NO LET THESE GIYS PLAY THEY ARE NOT CHINA DOLLS----for what their paid if 80%

ready —get out there………no you reduce a player who is 80% ready down to what may be 14 games …..if he can still contribute --without getting hurt worse…we need him…as i said earlier remember jack youngblood…….they were warriors….and not making this type of money………i’m not referring to sjx but sometimes nfl players have become soft….someone last year actually missed a game or two with hurt toe…..probably cost the team about a half million……..rams get strong……..quit playing like pansies…gut it up…..and win some football games this year……..dammit

Don't rush it Jackson!!

For me I think I’d rathe have him take this week off and next. Don’t sit out a whole week and then rush back. This is a different backfield this year. Rely on caddy for now and get that power back. He’s just asking to aggravate that quad by rushing back and then going full speed out of nowhere.

Two back set

give it to caddy, but have Jackson in there to distract the D
