Get On My Back!
The offense will have to carry this team. And by offense, I mean Sam Bradford. With Steven Jackson most likely missing this coming week, and future games uncertain due to the possibility of the injury lingering, Bradford will have to be the man. Although Cadillac Williams ran well, defenses will not have to account for him the way they do Steven Jackson.
For all the talk, which some of came from Bradford, about how comfortable he was with the offense it did not show up against the Eagles. He did not look confident, and he definitely did not look like a franchise quarterback. Granted there are plenty of factors contributing to his play against the Eagles, he is still going to need to step it up.
Bradford needs to make the players around him better. He needs to be the type of player that elevates his teammates. He will have to make his receivers better than they are and throw them open.
The defense is another reason that Bradford is going to need to come up big over the course of the season. With the injuries mounting up at the already thin cornerback position, teams will spread it on the Rams defense. And as much as a factor I hope our pass rush can be, they can only do so much to make up for lacking talent at cornerback. Fletcher's injury could be a nagging one. Bartell is most likely out for the season. Craig Dahl does not inspire much confidence. Mikell's play was average at best. Also, the defense was worn down at the end of the Eagles game, but the mental mistakes were inexcusable, no matter how tired a player gets. These guys are professionals and need to play like it.
The season is young, and there is plenty of time to get things right. Sam Bradford will have to lift this team up and put them on his back for the Rams to accomplish their goals for the season.

The expectations
for bradford, and for this team so ridiculously out of wack its not even funny anymore. This team is not going to compete for a championship until we seriously revamp our receiving core. bradford is a 2ND YEARD QUARTERBACK. He is not good enough to make the team around him better, he is not tom brady, he can be that good, but he is not right now. The defense has supbar outside linebackers, and a very, very thin secondary.
Rant over.
Its going to take more time to compete with ELITE. ELITE. Nfl teams.
agree completly
He can be that good, he just isn’t now. You look at most QB’s that ate picked in the first round, they usually have some kind of threat at receiver. Like Srafford had Calvin, cam newton has Steve smith, we have close to nothing.
Yup,
the Sheriff had Harrison and Faulk in his rookie year.
"Vick’s 100x the player Warner was.
Desean’s not quite at Holts level.
McCoy’s giving Faulk a run for his money.
Maclin’s better than Bruce.
"Warner never took over games."
