The St. Louis Rams open another season at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis today. Today's opponent? The Philadelphia Eagles, a team that, you may have heard, got some attention for a few moves they made during the truncated free agency period.
Of course, Rams GM Billy Devaney didn't exactly stand on the wall with his hands in his pocket. Bringing in players like Quintin Mikell, a former Eagle, andHarvey Dahl and Mike Sims-Walker, Spagnuolo realized some improvement to his roster as well.
And now, finally, both teams get to put that to the test.
As per usual with game days, I kind of ran out of things to say about it. Football looked like a pure fantasy at one point this year, when the lockout threatened to torpedo the whole thing. Thankfully, the idea of billions and billions in lost revenue scared everyone straight. Let's start making that money today!

I think they felt it was better to just avoid having a first game that got in his head too badly. Vick is not who I would pick to go up against as a rookie my first game. Lil animal said he’s like playing against a human video game….lol

Sando's rationale for Quinn on the inactive doesn't sound inspiring
Quinn might need longer to develop given that he did not play during his final season at North Carolina. If he is healthy, the Rams’ decision to name him inactive reflects strong confidence in their depth along the line. Also, in leaving defensive lineman Eugene Sims active instead, the Rams could have an eye toward special teams. Sims has more overall value in that area.

believe it or not
The dome sits right across the street from an area called the Landing…..bars resteraunts all in one area…..so there are a ton of little parking lots and a couple big ones…..but basically the whole area gets taken over and you can carry alcohol all around nobody cares….it is actually alot of fun

I do like the blitz packages that made Vick get skittish and made him make some poor decisions
Eagles O-line is well coached. They’ll make a lot of D lines look weak. But Andy Reid called a great play for that TD, it wasn’t a Vick play on the fly, and if the Rams keep up the confusion Vick’s feeling, they have a very legit shot at some turnovers and that’ll lead to a win
Instead of getting down, the Eagles just shoved it down our throats.
We shoulda had a pick on that long pass to Desean Jackson. And of course Vick shouldn’t have had all day to throw it either.
And of course
being on the field for all of 20 seconds didn’t have any effect.

Maclin was almost a 1000 yard receiver last year in his 2nd year

First impression after a quarter and a half of play; we don't look that good on either side of the ball.
Sam has nobody that can catch a ball and he’s not throwing that well either. Our D-Line is not putting any pressure on Vick since the 1st series. We made a foolish mistake that cost us 7 points. We shoulda had at least 1 INT. The Eagles shoulda had another TD except Jackson dropped a perfect pass. In other words we’re playing putrid.
