You know with all the expert's and fan's from both decides trying to break down play's and who will do what in the game and pointing to statistic's as if it was a lifeline to validate his or her's position and to top it off they pick the team they think has the best players to win and in The Ram's game it's the Eagles that the experts choose all the while pointing out adnasuem that they have super star's capable of leaping over giant building's and deflecting bullet's. That's all well and good but all there doing is taking an educated guess sometimes there right and sometimes there not; so I got to thinking what is football really? I mean yes you can look it up in the dictionary and it will tell you the definition of it but to me football is more then that. The thing is to me football is all about the age old battle of who is better then the other and in that giant game of keep away boy's turn to men who then turn to warrior's cause in football there is no in between it's either you win or you lose that's it.
The game is played from grade school to college and only a very few select individual's make it to there football heaven called the NFL and fewer still thrive in it. So why do the kids play football even knowing that you stand a better chance at winning the lottery twice then you do going to the NFL. They do so for there own reason's I'm sure but I think it's all a chance for them to see who is better then the other. I think for player's like Steven Jackson, Sam Bradford and those that wear the Ram's uniform it's a chance for them to bear there heart and soul and show the world that yes they can play through sweat, tear's and pain and that they too can play and win against the giant's of the game. The game of football is about the blood, sweat and pain of warrior's bearing there heart's and soul's so they can dig there cleat's in put there hands in the dirt and go to battle too see who is the best there is. That to me is what football is.
