Special Times
Can everybody start to feel this? Do you know what this is? It's the beginning. It's the beginning of being good. Will the Rams win the division? Don't know. Will the Rams win a playoff game? Don't know. Will the Rams win the Super Bowl? Couldn't tell you. What I CAN tell you is that the Rams will be an ascending team for the first time in TEN YEARS. You can make a case for the 2003 season, but, in all honesty, that team was descending away from the Greatest Show. We just didn't know that help wasn't on the way for a very long time. After last night's technically (thanks Arrowhead!) butchered telecast, I started giggling to myself the way the team came out. Everyone is holding them accountable to being a good team and they reacted accordingly...in the preseason. After the Titans game, the ownership, team, coaches, players, broadcasters, and fans were pissed! Dissatisfied. Tired. Frustrated. Everyone is fed up with sloppy, shitty ass football. Remember.. this was game 2 of the preseason. Ten years of football purgatory ends this year. Yeah, the schedule is tough, you never know what's going to happen, but , by golly, we will lose (if we lose) some games playing fun, engaged, technically sound, tough football. No more of this smoke and mirrors (and quick outs) bullshit. We have a TEAM, ladies and gentlemen. An actual NFL looking and playing team: Goodbye Keith Null! Goodbye Kenneth Darby! Goodbye Jonathan Wade! Goodbye Drew Bennett! Goodbye Kevin Dockery! Goodbye Brett Romberg! Goodbye Brian Leonard! Goodbye Nick Leckey! Goodbye Randy McMichael! Goodbye Brandon Gorin! Goodbye Fahkir Brown! Goodbye Tye Hill! Goodbye Joe Klopfenstein! Goodbye Victor Adeyanju! Goodbye Alex Ba...fuck, I can't even write your name. Goodbye Dane Looker! Go get bent, Claudes and D. Byrd! Goodbye Derek Stanley! Goodbye Jon Alston! Goodbye Kay-Jay Harris! Goodbye Reggie Hodges! Goodbye Blaine Saipaia! Good luck with you 6th new team in 6 years Jimmy Kennedy! Goodbye DeJuan Groce! Goodbye Arlen Harris! Goodbye Jacoby Shepard! Goodbye Robert Thomas! Goodbye Larry Turner! Goodbye Tony Hargrove! And most of all, Goodbye Jay Zygmunt!
Goodbye to the commitment of lukewarm to poor. Goodbye to apathy and lack of direction. Goodbye to nothing but sound and furry signifying nothing. Goodbye to the last 10 years of descent.
ARE YOU READY FOR YOUR 2011 ST. LOUIS RAMS!
Hot damn, Sam! LET'S GO!

Indeed
He doesn’t even deserve a goodbye. It was the coolest thing ever when Spags cut him after the 2.5 personal foul game. He was technically our best lineman and Spags had to send a message about non tolerance of jag-offery. in my mind, I just slapped the candy bar out of his hands and kicked him in the ass out of my cerebral cortex.
lol, pretty much.

DX
doesn’t even deserve to be mentioned with a single one of those guys, fucked up. Dude played his heart out knowing damn well his career could end on any one of those plays, and he did it well when he got to play.

or maidson hedgecock,
SOB would let blockers through because he was unhappy, everyone was glad to see him go. oh jon alston, though a beast in madden for some reaosn, rams just shouldnt have drafted a LB who weighs 219. also, goodbye jim hasslet. great job ruining a top 10 defense in washington. its tough to get more incompetent then you. i remember player coming over to spags and were shocked that this defense had positioning. seriously? i can actually write a post about the hilarious incompetence of most of those guys on the list. from victor adjabaerihsy, the DE who got no penetration, to mr kennedy who had no interest in working, derek stanley who was overall not talented. randy mcmichael and drew bennett who couldnt catch or stay healthy, brett rhomberg, out 280 center who knew nothing about blocking assignments. i honestly cant say why fakir brown was ever on our roster.

I didn't know that about Hedgecock
He was considered by some as one of the ones we should have kept. Linehan dumped him for some nobody that was one of his buddies. Hedgecock would go on to help the Giants do insignificant things like win a superbowl. But if what you say is true, then it’s a serious breach of professionalism.
Goodbye Robinson, Fells, McMichaels, Ryan, Vobora, Grant, Milyard, DX, Toston, Kehl, Diggs, King, G. Gibson, Diles...
AND we really need decent O-Line backups. Fraley and Goldbrick are awful.
King and Diles will still be here when the season starts
By all accounts, King is MUCH improved per his peers (Bartell). Diles will be fine as a backup and special teamer. Dude can wrap up.
Wow....
I had forgotten about a lot of those horrible horrible players. Good riddance to most. Not that he EVER should have been an NFL wide receiver, but I do have a bit of a soft spot for Dane Looker. Haha. UW alumnus, so… So many of those guys barely even registered. Arlen HARRIS?! Wow.

I have soft spot for Dane as well
BUT…he should never have been considered a #2 option at WR on an NFL team. He was the only guy I thought about with even a hint of fondness when exorcising the daemons.
good freakin riddance zygmunt/and shaw!
those 2 were the disease that festered into that franchise for yrs before the new regime killed them off! those 2 were responsible for those dark yrs in st. louis. it was like the sun finally shining through the dark storm clouds that hovered over the loo. the best moves the rams ever made were not draft picks, it was getting rid of them 2.

We're overlooking one key figure here: Mike Martz
Brilliant OC. Horrible HC. Martz had a big hand in totally disassembling the crew from the GSOT. I still get sick to my gut when I think how a concussed Kurt Warner with a fractured pinkie finger was uncerimoniously dumped for “Mr. Unemotional” Marc Bulger. If only we’d given Kurt a year to heal from all those sacks he suffered under Martz’s flame-throwing offense. Ricky Proehl, a guy with grit and heart, was another victim. He promptly went on to Carolina and another SB. And how ’bout letting defenders like Dre Bly and London Fletcher get away? And what a legacy of draft picks and trades??? Who was that Incognito like nutcase O-Lineman Martz got from the Saints that later threatened him publicly? Nope. Martz was a cluster HC that cost us another SB ring and at least one other SB appearance. I blame Martz for the loss in SB XXXVI. He was badly outcoached by Bill Bellicheat as we let a far inferior team beat us in the big one. Marshall Faulk was killing the Pats with his rushing for big yards but Martz refused to take advantage of it and kept going back to the pass time after time. Even though the officials were letting the Pats flatten our receivers on every play. So our defense allowed 13 whole points, we lost the game, and Tom Brady became a national hero.
If only DIck Vermeil....
had hung on a few more years. We’d be working on our third or maybe even fourth SB win.
Those names were so bad....
even I had forgotten most of them. Here’s one more name for the list: Pisa T. Sure he had heart, but every other week, he also had a dislocated shoulder.
rest her soul, but
Goergia, She was a big culprit in the Ram’s downfall. Cheap biiiiii, tch and doing the players. Her kids were only marginally better. Thank you for new ownership and an aspiring FO Go 2011 Rams
Have to disagree
Her son was responsible for turning away from what was, to what is happening now. And she was very respected by people like Dick Vermeil and Marshal Faulk.

Good post.
Good luck to the Rams this year.
