The Rams have the ability to be a very deadly offense. But it all depends on our WR's. Because with Lance Kendricks and Illini Mike/ Fendi Onobun make us able to run the 2-TE set effectively. If we can just match it with some reliable WR's then it would make our offense very hard to stop. For example, If our WR's are just doing a great job of getting open and catching the ball, and we arent throwing the ball to our TE's as much. But then all of the sudden, one week they just get shut down. What do we do? Well why dont we switch to our 2-TE set and see what our talented and athletic TE's can do. It seems like that would be very hard to defend. They get so focused in on our recievers, then we just switch offenses and start throwing to our TE's. It would get them really off rhythm.
Then add that with our running game. We still have Steven Jackson and its not like he's no good anymore. He can still run over some guys and is definitely still a threat. But as you all know we also added Cadillac Williams and Jerious Norwood to finally get some depth behind SJ39. And they did a great job running the ball against the Colts.
Match that running game with our O-Line which recently added Harvey Dahl to have him rub off some of his nastiness on Jason Smith, Jacob Bell, and Jason Brown. And it seemed to work because our O-line looked amazing in our preseason opener in both the running game and protecting the QB. Plus it appears that we have depth. You can see how adding Dahl sparked something in everyone and if we can block as well as we did against the Colts in the regular season, then watch out cause here we come.
Then add a franchise QB who knows what hes doing in the pocket and could possibly lead us to the playoffs this year. If he can get all the time he had then he's gonna have time to make his reads and deliver a good ball to the open guy to start moving the ball down the field.
Then match that with our defense who appears to be doing real well with the additions of Quintin Mikell, Justin Bannan, Ben Leber, Brady Poppinga, and Robert Quinn. So they should be able to close out games when our offense is able to score early.
