What's the scoop on Alex Barron?
Howdy. Saints fan here, trying to get fan input on your old tackle, Alex Barron. We just signed him for "depth," and for the life of me all I can remember about him was how he was holding on what would have been the winning play for the Cowboys against the Redskins last year.
Doesn't give me a lot of confidence...but I just admitted I don't know anything about him. I figure, you guys do. So give me the lowdown: if we wind up having to rely on Barron to open holes for Mark Ingram or keep sackers off Drew Brees, are we screwed? Or not?

False starts and holding calls
explain Barron in a nutshell.
Lineham played him at RT his first few years, which apparently he had a hard time grasping, and then they switched him back to LT, at which point we realized he had forgotten how to play there, too. He was an “addition by subtraction” for us, and obviously cost the Cowboys a little bit, too.
Might not be bad to have him as backup, as long as he doesn’t have to play. And that’s probably the most optimistic thing anyone here will say about him.
THIS year's the year. I hope....
The pros: reliable as in staying healthy.
The cons: reliable as in penalties. False starts were his Achilles heel.
Led league in penalties
Healthy check.
Motivated no.
Penalty prone, double check.
He will be cut after week 2 as Payton will be frustrated by his lack of motivation and careless ways.
He is durable
but that might be to do with all the false starts and half assed attempts at blocking so he has never had much wear on the tires.
With his physical skills he should be a good player. But he isn’t.
Barron was excellent in clutch situations-
Our opponents could take a breather when we were in the RZ, they knew Barron would jump off a couple of times and we would then march backwards. Actually on third and short too…Actually on anything and long also…

Saints fans should be wary at traffic intersection too... When Barron drives he never waits for the green light...hmmm?
Yikes!! He would never exceed at Drag Racing either-
Not unless he followed that NBA player who wants to race in Drag-
He's a penalty machine
Pettis is gonna be a good one. BLAM!

The fact that he is still playing in the National Football League is a phenomenon in Chaos Mathmatics
that professors are still puzzling over at MIT.
- And here's the Rams' 2010 season in a series. Incomplete pass, 18-yard run, incomplete pass, 7-yard run, 5-yard pass, 3-yard run, sack, incomplete pass, punt. Shoot me. - 3K
Hope your first string T doesn't get hurt.
If he doesn’t, then Barron will be a GREAT backup!
The truth is always the right answer....

Alex Baron is the most talented OT in the NFL...
… And you should start him when you guys play the Rams :)
Two things about me will never change. I will always root for the Rams, and I will always root against the Niners.
The ultimate drive killer.
Sorry that might have to rely on him… Only Flozell Adams has had more penalties since Barron’s been in the league.
"I kind of stepped my swagger up. You look at the Madden game and the swagger's so low, maybe they'll bump me up. Before it was a meatball flex, so you've got to liven it up a little bit." - Animal Jr.
From what I remember
Barron was an average blocker with above average talent and below average drive. He can block alright as both a run or pass blocker, but he could block great if he was motivated.
HOWEVER, he does take penalties like crazy. I mean we dropped him when Adam Goldberg (only kinda serviceable) was our replacement even though Barron was the better player. In short, you can have him :)
All you need in this life is ignorance and confidence, and then success is sure.

Alex Barron is the second most hatable player I think the Rams have had in recent years.
And if it weren’t for the Richie Incogfatass walking off the field with his hand to his ear while being booed, Barron would be the most hated. Alex Barron is a terrible player, and has never done anything to help a team win.
You will be seeing your memory over and over
Its groundhog day
