The Defensive Nightmare of a Shortened Season

Go to fullsize image

It has been great to see all the photos and interviews with Ram players participating in workouts. It not only wets the appetite for what will come next in the new McD era, but it shows the team staying a tightly knit group.

Yet the link below from NFL.com gave me pause to think of our defense. All the improvement we saw over last season may be a cause for a "What the heck happened?" if the 2011 season is shortened. Based on historical data from past NFL work stopages, it seems a shortened season favors the offense and presents a new level of hell for defenses.

The video would also seem to increase the need for adding some veteran depth at safety and even cornerback.
