First it's on. Then it's off.The sad fact is that we are all sitting here waiting while billionaires are dividing up who gets millions and who get billions. I get it. The owners want a return on investment. The players want health care for the guys who have made them their billions.
The owner must pay health care costs for these guys. I'm all of the sudden pissed that Jerry Jones can get a face lift while many of his former players can't afford a doctor visit. That might be their fault for being stupid with their money. But they weren't that bright to begin with. And their agent could give two f's, aftter he got them signed.
To me, this is pretty easy. You absolutely must pay for the damage your team has done to a certain player. It's a gladiator game, and I get that. But, you must pay for the guy that was so beaten up. To quote George Costanza, "we live in a society here!"
The vets have to be paid for. A home, a car, and medical care. Certainly the NFL can afford this. I would like an end to the lockout as much as the rest of you. I'll skip a season if I have too, to help ex-players get theirs. I'm skipping my fantasy football team. That's a bit less than the NFL had before. It's not much, but if enough of us do it...
